Hello, i ran into an issue. Here is the key informations you must know: my website needs to have 4 types of posts: Episodes, Recipes, Posts for my mood board, products. Using CPT UI i created the 3 types of posts and i started with Episodes archive. The categories, tags, archive, slug, etc. is configured as it should be.

The issue is, when i post an episode, it is in the single episode web design as it should be, but the episode isnt posted in the episodes archive. Also the query for the posts is set only to episodes categories, but it shows the normal default posts from the template.

Also i will need to link the correct products that we are selling to each episode, since we advertise them in them.

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hello,

Could you please test if the same issue occurs when using a default theme, such as Storefront? (Appearance > Themes).

    Warm Regards,

Does it matter that we are building it in a child theme. Also, since i have made so much progress, can i make the child theme a main theme? https://fex.net/s/kvkdmpr

I switched the theme to storefront, it broke the website. But i got a glimpse of the archive, and still its only hello world post

    Hello @tlongurov,

We hope this message finds you well.

We have reviewed your setup and noticed that you have created custom post types and would like them to be displayed on the archive page. Currently, you are using the Elementor builder to design the archive page and have added the “Posts” widget. Please note that this widget, by default, only displays standard WordPress posts and does not support custom post types. As a result, only the default posts are being shown (please refer to the screenshot: https://prnt.sc/qK8pPQDQlc2t).

To display custom post types such as Episodes, Recipes, or other custom entries, we recommend using the default (non-builder) layout for the archive page. If you remove the conditions set in your Archive Builder (as shown here: https://gyazo.com/4eeb8a872b725be147a6c402e38ecca9), the custom post types (e.g., Episodes) will be correctly displayed on the archive page. You can view an example here: https://prnt.sc/J0Nl0u5kekcm. The layout of this page can be configured via Theme Options → Blog → Blog Layout (https://prnt.sc/SlubFsX_PmxB).

Alternatively, if you prefer to continue using the Elementor builder, please note that it will only display posts from the default post type. In this case, you would need to assign tags or categories to those default posts accordingly.

For your convenience, we have temporarily disabled the conditions in your Archive Builder so you can verify that all custom post types are now correctly displayed on their respective archive pages.

Should you require further customization or assistance, please feel free to submit a request through your account at: https://www.8theme.com/account/.

    Best regards,

    Hello @tlongurov,

    Thank you for your message.

Please note that it is not possible to create different layouts for various post types using the default layout. If you wish to modify the content or add custom sections to these pages, we recommend doing so via your child theme.

To make changes to the archive page, you can copy the file from xstore/index.php to xstore-child/index.php and apply your desired modifications there.

Kindly be advised that such customizations fall outside the scope of our standard support. However, you are welcome to submit a request for additional customization through the following link: https://www.8theme.com/account.

If your initial question has been resolved, we would appreciate it if you could mark the topic as solved.

    Best regards,

    Hello @tlongurov,

    Thank you for reaching out.

For inquiries related to displaying categories of a custom post type in the sidebar, we kindly recommend contacting the support team of the specific plugin you are using. They are best equipped to assist you with generating a custom widget tailored to your needs.

Please note that the default WordPress widget only displays categories from standard posts. As such, any questions regarding custom post types fall outside the scope of our theme support. We suggest submitting your query on the plugin’s official support forum for more accurate assistance.

Additionally, you may test the tags, categories, and sidebar widgets using a default WordPress theme to confirm that the issue is not related to our theme.

We appreciate your understanding. As the 8Theme support team, we are dedicated to providing assistance exclusively for our own products.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson
