I hope you well. I am writing to report a problem I am experiencing with the cookie banner functionality on my website using the XStore theme.

I have encountered an issue where the cookie banner reappears on every page load, even after selecting “Yes” to accept cookies. Unsure of the cause, I proceeded to disable the cookie notice in the XStore theme options and installed the CookieYes plugin to manage my cookie consent more effectively.

However, after setting up the CookieYes plugin and finalizing the configurations, I noticed that my website still displays the old cookie banner instead of reflecting the changes observed in the live preview. It appears that the original cookie banner from the XStore theme continues to show, irrespective of the new settings applied via CookieYes.

Could you please advise on how I can completely disable the original cookie banner from the XStore theme to prevent it from appearing on every page? I wish to use the CookieYes plugin exclusively for managing cookie consent on my site.

Thank you for your attention to this matter. I look forward to your guidance on resolving this issue.

    Dear 8theme Team,

Thank you for your prompt response and for taking the time to check the cookie notice on my website.

I have conducted further tests on different devices and browsers, and unfortunately, the issue with the cookie banner persistently reappearing remains. Regardless of the device or browser used, the cookie banner continuously shows up on each page visit, even after accepting the cookies.

Moreover, the banner that keeps appearing is not the one I configured in the CookieYes plugin. It seems to be an outdated version and does not match the settings and design I have implemented through CookieYes.

Given these circumstances, I believe the issue might be related to the theme’s cookie notice feature not being fully disabled or conflicting with the CookieYes plugin. I am unsure how to proceed to rectify this and ensure only the CookieYes banner is displayed according to my current settings.

I submitted two videos and tested them on PC and mobile respectively. You can clearly see the error. In addition, in the privacy policy (https://jojokiki.com/privacy-policy/) page, you can clearly see that its background has become transparent, and there is an obvious error.

Thank you for your cooperation and assistance in resolving this matter.

    Hello, @Dylan,

    We appreciate your prompt response.

We would like to inquire whether you have a caching mechanism or a Content Delivery Network (CDN) in place. Сaching could potentially be the cause of the issue at hand. Please could you clear your cache or consider disabling it temporarily to see if this resolves the problem. If you are uncertain about how to manage the cache, we recommend reaching out to your hosting provider for assistance.

    Kind Regards,
    8theme team

Thank you for your response and suggestions regarding the caching mechanism and CDN. Following your advice, I attempted to resolve the issue by clearing the cache, but unfortunately, this did not rectify the problem. Additionally, I have disabled the CookieYes banner, yet the issue persists.

I am now considering completely deactivating the cookie banner feature of the XStore theme to see if that will eliminate the recurring banner. However, I seem to be facing difficulties in doing this effectively. Despite making changes in the Theme Options under GDPR & Cookies, the modifications do not appear to take effect, and I am unable to alter the displayed content. This problem is especially noticeable on mobile devices.

Could you please guide me on how to properly disable the XStore theme’s cookie banner feature? If there is a specific procedure or setting that I should follow, I would greatly appreciate your detailed instructions.

Thank you once again for your support. I look forward to your prompt response and guidance on this matter.

    Hello, @Dylan,

    We appreciate your prompt response.

We have observed that you have successfully implemented the actions to disable the cookie banner feature. However, the issue at hand is not that the banner remains active, but rather that the changes are not visible due to caching. We have even attempted to add custom CSS code, but, regrettably, we are unable to see these modifications on the frontend when accessing the site via an incognito browser window as an unauthenticated user.

It is evident that the changes take effect when logged in as an administrator, which clearly indicates that when the cache is bypassed, the functionality is as expected. However, the cached version is what is being displayed to unregistered or new users. Consequently, this matter is not related to the theme author but to the individual who configured the caching on your website.

Have you reached out to your hosting provider for assistance as we previously advised?

    Kind Regards,
    8theme team
