Issue on variable products only Safari - by javi_web

Hi! In a new site I have detected an issuu only in Safari (desktop and mobile).
When a product has options (is variable) and you click on a variation, the browser reload the page and if you click a second time goes to an error page.

Hello,

Could you, please, provide us with WP Dashboard and FTP access to check the problem in more details because we can’t reproduce the issue on our test installations? The problem can be related to some third-party plugin that you use but we need to check.

Hello Olga. Don’t worry, if you think the problem is due to a third-party plugin I will do a test in my DEV environment. I will inform you.

For me, and much more for my client, it’s a pleasure: you can add it to your showcase. The name of the company is “Máquinas Febal” in his sector “MAQUINARIA PROFESIONAL PARA ALIMENTACIÓN Y HOSTELERÍA”

Please tell me if you finally include it. Surely it will be fun to see how my client tells his friends.

Hello,

Yes, check the variable product if third-party plugins that do not come bundled with our theme are disabled and also with the parent theme. If you don’t find the reason then provide access to your site(you may provide access to dev site if you have it).

We are working on re-design of our showcase and will inform you once we add your site.

Hello Olga. On DEV environment the only way I have to remove the issue is selecting a non Xstore based theme. I have tried to deactivate all plugins.

Please I provide you credentials to a testing environment.

Oh, right! It’s because I created this on the morning and maybe de DNS is not ready.
Please add this line to your hosts file:
31.200.244.56 testing.maquinasfebal.es

Hello,

This is a very strange bug. It appears in Safari only with all the selects if you choose the body font Oswald with font-weight 300 and also heading font Oswald with font-weight 500,600 etc.
If you change the font to any other or choose combination 400 + any other it works ok. Also, everything is ok if you upload Oswald using Custom font area and choose it for the body. We don’t have an idea of why Safari crashes because of this font + 300 font-weight at this moment.

So, to fix this problem go to Theme Options > Typography > Custom font > upload Oswald light http://prntscr.com/omjkgj Save options, reload the page.
Then go to Typography > Content > choose the Oswald light for the body http://prntscr.com/omjxzk . Save, clear plugin and server cache and check the selects on your site again.

Hello, yes it is (strange). Thanks I will try tomorrow. But, one question:
– Upload Oswald? Why ? It’s a google font. its true?

I hope to find a solution that respect the actual aspect. The designer can kill me if not!
I think that is not the real reason of the issue. Its a result of something other. I mean, a font doesn’t is related with a select behaviour .

We have tried everything. Problem appears only with the default Oswald light(300) or Oswald extra-light(200) in theme options, you may try by yourself – change either font or font-weight to 400 instead of 300 for example and you’ll see.

We found reports about similar problems while googling the issue but any solution for this or explanation what could be the reason of the problem.

Hello, finally my solution have been to upload a oswald-light.ttf thant only apply to select elements on custom style.css of the child theme.

With this solution I haven’t to change several custom styles.
