My IP keeps being blocked by my hosting provider because of the multiple simultaneous connections which they say is from the word press plugin.
I tried updating the WP app to the latest (4.2) and have tried deactivating non-essential plugins like Essential Grid, Screen Chat etc.
I tried to repair the WP database using this guidance:
http://www.wpbeginner.com/wp-tutorials/how-to-fix-the-error-establishing-a-database-connection-in-wordpress/ but there were issues with the process so that didn’t really help.
I can’t tell you the Royal theme /woocommerce versions as I cannot login but they were installed on 25-02-2015 – I didn’t do much with it until mid April which is when I started noticing these errors.
Has anything similar been reported recently?
The IP blocking is happening from multiple locations.
Please help!
Hello,
have you tried to deactivate all plugins and switch to default wordpress theme and check?
Regards,
Stan Russell.
Hi Stan,
Thanks for the suggestion. My hosting provider has assured me that the WP app works fine…
“Well we have many hundreds of WordPress users who do not encounter this issue, therefore it seems the problem is one (or more) of the wordpress plugins you happen to be using, rather than wordpress itself which is causing these issues.”
So like you suggest it is probably one of the plugins. This evening I will try re-installing the WP app from scratch and take it from there – first test the default theme and then installing clean versions of Royal theme and WooCommerce. Will post my feedback here.
Theme versions now included.
Hello
Thank you for this clean test procedures you are going to perform.
We are looking forward to hearing from you.
With best regards

Hi,
I uninstalled the wordpress application on 6 May.
I then ran a thorough virus scan on my computer, which took 24hrs, in case the problem was from my IP but nothing major was found.
On May 7, I re-installed the Word press application and let it run for the rest of the day without any issues. I added a few posts every now and then. I also modified the .htaccess file to deny access to xmlrpc.php and wp-config.php as research advised this might help.
After a day with no issues, on 9 May I installed the Royal theme again, edited some of the theme’s graphics and then installed the WooCommerce plugin. Everything seemed to be going fine until May 10 when I opened a few different browser windows to edit content simultaneously which is when my IP was blocked. After 1hr, the IP was unblocked and I tried working again but I got blocked out immediately.
Statistic for the pre-theme installation:
07 May 2015 – 70 visits, 341 pages, 511 hits
08 May 2015 – 10 visits, 14 pages, 19 hits
Post theme installation:
09 May 2015 – 10 visits, 1,274 pages, 13,672 hits
10 May 2015 – 14 visits, 1,561 pages, 16,740 hits
Today I logged in from a different IP just now and viewed one product page and the stats read as follows:
10 visits, 33 pages, 230 Hits
Of interest is a System Status message in WordPress which says: “Your theem has bundled outdated copies of WooCommerce template files. If you notice an issue on your site, this could be the problem, Please contact your theme developer for further assistance.
The templates (which I have updated myself by downloading them from github) are:
royal/woocommerce/cart/cart-totals.php (version 2.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 2.3.6)
royal/woocommerce/cart/cart.php (version 2.3.0 is out of date. The core version is 2.3.8)
Can you help?

Hello,
The issue with outdated files has been fixed.
Please check.
Regards,
Eva Kemp.
I notice that you have upgraded all the WooCommerce template files. This seems to have done the trick as I am managing to use the site properly without being blocked so far. If anything happens again I will advise but thanks very much for the quick response and kind assistance in sorting this out.
Hello,
You’re welcome!
