    Hi,

I use WP All Import to update my product inventory. When the inventory reaches zero, it creates the custom field “product_new” to enable. I include the icon “Out of Stock” when “product_new” = enable. This is a work around with woocommerce because if I use the standard method of changing the “manage_stock” it doesn’t allow backorders.

Anyway, when I reimport my products and change “product_new” to enable, the custom field does not get changed. I have to manually go to the product and select from the drop down “Mark products as “new”” to “Yes”. Then it creates the custom field.

However, in the reimport, I specifically update the custom field. Unfortunately, this isn’t registering with the theme.

I’ve spoke to WP All Import and we’ve tested on their server. The custom field is updated on their test server using the basic theme. But on our theme, the reimport does not get registered.

Can you help me figure out how to make sure this custom field gets updated?

    Thanks,
    Rob

Hello, have you been able to address this issue?

I just tried to ONLY update the stock quantity with an import with WP All Import. It reset all the “New” items and now the only way I can figure out is to manually update each one.

This defeats the purpose of updating all my products with a csv and an import.

Basically, the custom field “product_new” is removed, regardless of whether it’s updated or not.

I’ve already spoken with them and they say everything is good on their end. I tested on their service and saw it worked correctly with a basic WordPress Theme. They recommended I speak with you and ask about how the theme interacts and behaves when there is an import.

Please let me know what can be done. And yes, I know this is a third party plugin, and you don’t support all plugins, but please work with me here because it’s a major inconvenience.

    Best,
    Rob

    Hello,

When you re-import products and they overwrite old products then the option “Mark product as new” won’t be enabled because it’s unticked by default. Unfortunately to enable it you have to check it manually.

Please take our apologies for inconveniences.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
