Recently, I purchased the XSTORE theme, and I want to switch my current theme to it. My store has 400+ products. Could you please guide me on how to safely switch the theme without losing any data from my current site?
Hello,
Thank you for reaching out to us and for choosing the XStore theme for your store.
Switching your theme while ensuring the safety of your data is a crucial process. To help you make the transition smoothly, please follow these steps:
1. **Backup Your Current Site**:
Before making any changes, we strongly recommend creating a full backup of your website, including your database and files. This ensures that you can restore your site if anything unexpected occurs.
2. **Set Up a Staging Environment**:
To avoid disruptions to your live store, consider setting up a staging site. This is a duplicate of your website where you can safely test the new theme without affecting your live site. Many hosting providers offer staging environments, or you can use plugins like WP Staging.
3. **Install and Activate the XSTORE Theme**:
In your WordPress dashboard, navigate to **Appearance > Themes**, click **Add New**, and upload the XSTORE theme file. Once uploaded, activate the theme in your staging environment.
4. **Import Demo Content (Optional)**:
If you wish to use demo content, you can import it via the XSTORE > Import demos. Please note that importing demo content will not overwrite your existing products, it will add new content, but it’s always good to double-check before proceeding.
5. **Customize the Theme**:
Use the XSTORE theme options and WordPress Customizer to adjust the design and layout to match your preferences. Ensure that all your products, pages, and settings are displayed correctly.
6. **Test Your Site**:
Thoroughly test your site on the staging environment to ensure that all functionalities, including product pages, checkout, and plugins, are working as expected.
7. **Switch to the Live Site**:
Once you are satisfied with the setup on the staging site, you can replicate the changes on your live site or push the staging site to live (if your hosting provider supports this feature).
We hope this information is helpful.

I imported the demo content on my staging site, but it seems it was not imported properly. I am not sure why this happened. Attached is a screenshot of the page. I want all the demo content to appear on the homepage and other pages, and later i designed this page according to my requirements. However, it has mixed up with my old images. I manually changed some images on the homepage, but some are still left unchanged. Icons are missing, and the mega menu has also crashed. Please help me resolve this issue so I can easily import all the demo content properly.
Hello, Hassan,
Thank you for reaching out to us.
From the screenshot you provided, it appears that the page layout was imported correctly. Regarding the issue with the images, this is expected behavior. Since you already had images in your media library, the imported images were assigned different identifiers than they would have been if the demo content had been installed on a clean site.
You can manually replace the images, but please note that this process may take some time.
As for the mega menu, could you please provide a link to your website rather than just a screenshot? This will help us better understand how the menu appears on your site and provide more accurate assistance.

Okay, got it. I think the same issue is happening with the mega menu. The mega menu is picking an image from the previous gallery. Thanks for your help. I’ll try to make the changes I need, and if I need further help, I’ll let you know.
