Tagged: translation theme
On my page there are many phrases in English, and I don’t find the way to translate them into Spanish.
In my “loco Translate” plugin, there is the possibility to select between “Woopress theme”, or “woopress-child theme” (which is the one I work with)
I have edited the Spanish language in both: Woopress and Woopress-child.
The theme Woopress-child, generates the file “woopress-child-es_ES.po”
and the Woopress theme, generates the file “woopress-es_ES.po”
I’ve been reading tutorials here and there, and in these moments I have it configured in a disastrous way…
I have files “woopress-es_es.po” and “woopress-es_es.mo” in several folders:
-I have them in wp-content / languages
-but I also have them in wp-content / languages / themes
-and I also have them in wp-content / languages / plugins
And the sentences are still not translated …
In which folder should I keep the .po and .mo files??
And which one… the woopress “.po & .mo” files, or the woopress-child” one??
Please, I need your help…
Thank you so much!!Site URL: http://www.rincondesilencio.com Theme version: 4.5.1 WooCommerce version: 3.5.1
You need to place woopress-es_ES.po, woopress-es_ES.mo files into /wp-content/languages/themes/ folder.
Translation for child theme required only in case you made changes in files there. In case, you use the child theme, but did not add files with new strings, translation files for the child theme is not required.
Also, if you face problems with translation, you need to be sure that your translation files are synchronized. Button Sync (Loco Translate plugin http://prntscr.com/glemdq) allows you to synchronize your translation file with updated pot file. It means if we made any changes in template files that may affect translation or we added new string for the translation and you updated theme you need to synchronize your translation with updated files. Only after synchronization, you’ll be able to translate new strings or strings that were changed. Also, don’t forget to backup all the files before any update.
If you need any further assistance, provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access.
I’ve tried it in every way … with Loco Translate plugin … directly over the .po file with “poedit” program… from the option to edit the file in the same FTP …
I don’t get it.
My phrases do not appear translated.
I give you access to my wp-admin and FTP, to see if you can detect the problem.

Have you cleared server cache?
Do you use CDN?
Please check FTP access. We can’t connect, unfortunately.
Waiting for your reply.
It’s strange because you have accessed many other times.
I have cleaned cache from server. I use Nginx.
I have spoken with my hosting:
They tell me that it is not necessary to enter FTP through the link that I provided in my previous message, but you must be able to log-in with any FTP manager, such as filezilla or any other.
Anyway, I think you should be able to acces with the new link that I leave now. If not, you should enter with your ftp manager.
I wait your answer.Site URL: www.rincondesilencio.com
I’ve regenerated .pot file and synchronized translation. Please try to translate theme using Loco Translate plugin now.
