How to sort/arrange filter attributes Alphanumeric or Numerically

Hello,

We have several filters in place for our products. The filters are based off of custom attributes (Simple Product). Is it possible to arrange these numerically from highest to lowest?

For those who find this post in the future, perhaps alphabetically as well.

We are comfortable making code/css modifications if required.
