I have had issues as the theme is over-riding the settings of the new Archive Page I have tried to build. How do I get around this? I want to be able to control the look of the elements and not have the Xstore theme defaults

Ideally if I use a new XStore Builder page – then I can apply the settings I need, as well as control any of the elements for buttons etc?

What is also a problem is I have applied the template and this has over-ridden the SHOP page layout – I previously had top level categories and then the products after those. This does not show now – just all products.

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hello, WebsiteDude,

Thank you for contacting us and for using XStore.

1/ What exactly settings are overridden?
Please describe the situation in more detail with a video for a better understanding.

2/ “What is also a problem is I have applied the template and this has over-ridden the SHOP page layout – I previously had top level categories and then the products after those. This does not show now – just all products.” – you are using the Elementor Pro plugin, so please check how the archive builder works when not our theme is activated. Do they allow the desired functionality?

The request about the improvement work of our builder can be sent on this page – https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/ , so our developer’s team read it.

Currently, you can try to add this https://prnt.sc/Sw4wBMjvMsAN element before products.

    Kind Regards,
    8theme team

I have managed to get it working.

I like the new Spotlight Categories – would it be possible to disable certain ones from showing? So I can control things better?

Also – there is no obvious SCROLL indicator – Of 11 people looking at this not one of them realised it scrolled. Perhaps you can consider this? or maybe a feature to auto scroll like a slider?

    Hello, WebsiteDude,

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

1/ There is no such possibility, right now. Please post your request on our Taskboard at https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/. If it receives enough votes from other customers, our development team will consider adding it in one of the upcoming updates.

2/ Thank you for bringing this to our attention. We will be implementing this in our upcoming updates.

    Kind Regards,

    Hello, WebsiteDude,

1/ “Would it be possible to disable certain ones from showing?” = yes, we will add an option to disable specific categories (and already uploaded such improve on your staging web-site – https://prnt.sc/vwW7xiAM1ntz )
2/ “Also – there is no obvious SCROLL indicator” – we will also add some option to control navigation of this slider (and you can check those on your staging – we uploaded it there already – https://prnt.sc/_nXT_1vCCaMS )

    Kind Regards,

    Hi Rose,

that’s amazing – thanks so much.

One little improvement would be to be able to EITHER Exclude Categories, or INCLUDE categories.

At the moment I think INCLUDE CATEGORIES would be better as of course that way if the store has lots of them, then it is much faster to control the ones that show.

OR – if you could consider an ability from within a Product Category – to be able to exclude it from showing in any spotlight category widget – reason is that we have lots of categories that exist but are not really used for navigating to – it is more just to organise content, and sometimes to create a category that can be picked up using a taxonomy filter
