How are the default widgets of 8theme associated with the page?

These associations are unclear and seem to require guessing.

For instance, with ‘Footer Column1’, only by adjusting in Footer Layout -> Columns -> “1 Column” did I realize that the ‘Footer Column1’ widget is associated with ‘1 Column’, and this is fixed and immutable. If you increase the number of Columns, it merely compresses this widget into the first cell.
For the ‘Main Sidebar’, I’m uncertain about which pages it can be linked to, and where in these pages can I adjust this setting?

For example, when I go into the Blog page editor, under the xstore options -> Layout at the bottom of the page, there’s a widget area. The default option is “–Choose–“, but even without selecting the Main Sidebar, it still appears when I view the blog. Meanwhile, in the ‘Contact Us’ page editor with the same option, the Main Sidebar won’t appear unless I specifically choose it. I’m quite perplexed. Which pages is the Main Sidebar inherently associated with, and which ones is it not? How do you make the Main Sidebar associate with a page, and is there a consistent logic behind it?

This is just discussing these two widgets; other widgets have similar issues. So, my question is, if there is a specific video tutorial about how 8theme’s default widgets are associated with pages, please provide me with the link to the tutorial. If not, please guide me on the specific association logic for each default Widget. Thank you.”

    In the document you provided:
https://xstore.helpscoutdocs.com/article/48-widgets-custom-widget-areas, it is clearly stated that the “Main sidebar – Default sidebar for all pages and posts.”
However, in the demo you provided, the Main sidebar is present on the blog page but not on other pages, like contact us. This is inconsistent with “for all PAGES and posts” as stated in the document. I’d like to know how to set it up so that some pages have the sidebar while others do not. thank u

    Hello, @caochen223,

    Thank you for your response.

If you are interested in displaying the sidebar on your pages, kindly follow these steps: Navigate to the specific page you wish to edit, then proceed to Xstore Options > Layout.

Here, you can select the Sidebar Position, Widget Area, and Sidebar Width according to your preferences. Once you have made your selections, please ensure to update it.

Please refer to the attached image for further clarification.
