    Is there a way to make the header formatted like #8 with the menu below but have a clear backbround that shows the slide show like #3?

    Unfortunately there is no such feature in the theme. Sorry.

    Or do your recommend another theme? We basically want the clear top with the menu below the logo.

    Hello,

    You can select other header type, but transparent header is available only for the 2nd and 3rd types. To hide top bar you need go to Theme Options > Header > Enable top bar > Off.
