Having Trouble with Visual Composer - by LindaMendible

    Hey Awesome people!

    I need your help. I’ve been trying to update and tweak my website but I’m unable to because Visual Composer doesn’t show up when I go to edit a page!

    Please help.

    Hello,

    There is incompatibility issue with WordPress 4.5 and Visual Composer plugin.
    You must update VC to the latest version https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/ , also update all required plugins and theme.
    Before update delete “woocommerce” folder in the directory wp-content/themes/legenda/ and it’ll be reuploaded from a new theme package.
    Don’t forget to create back up of your files and database before starting update process!

    Thank you so much for the response! I’m afraid I have no idea how to even get to that window on the video and I honestly have no idea how I can do this.

    How do I open those windows that are on the video? Please let me know what to do from here.

    Hello,

    You need use FTP client like FileZilla https://filezilla-project.org/download.php?type=client and connect to your server where the files are hosted. You can ask your hosting provider how to connect via FTP.

    I’ve downloaded the FTP client Filezila.

    I have a few questions, I got the email from you all that you’ve updated Legenda. I went on over and downloaded the update.

    So where do I go from here?

    1. OF COURSE Back up everything can I do it with the FTP client or should I do it through my hosting provider?

    2. Once I back up eeerything Do I delete the woocomerce folder you suggested and just go through the process?

    Those are pretty much my two big questions!

    Hello,

    1. You can download all site files via FTP, but you need also back up a database which can be done via hosting panel PHPMyAdmin. Ask them to help you with it.

    2. Yes, delete “woocommerce” folder in wp-content/themes/legenda directory (be attentive, in “legenda” directory, not in “plugins” directory), and update the theme.

    Yay! Never mind!! I just updated the Plugin via FTP!! Woohoo. It was so intimidating but totally liberating. Thanks guys!
