I’m listing everything I’ve done since installing the theme last month to see if that helps,

I couldn’t install the theme via WordPress so I had to manually install it via FTP, shortly after installing Classico I was having issues navigating the Dashboard and website, the load time was extremely slow. I disabled the plugins which helped, and reactivated each one individually to see which one was causing issues. None of the plugins were messing up the site and everything ran normally again. This same thing happened not even a week later. At the time I only had the plugins that came with the theme, the ones that were suggested and installed by our web guy, and JetPack. So I don’t know why any of them would have broken the site.

I could never get the Updraft Plus plugin our web guy installed to work with the theme, and ended up getting backup-to-dropbox which worked.

Last Friday I added the My Library Plus plugin to help organize uploads and about 40 mins later the site was running extremely slow and the website and admin page said “Error Establishing a Database Connection”. I figured the site was messing up because of the changes in the “uploads” folder so I deleted the folder via FTP, deleted the plugin, and re-uploaded the backup “uploads” folder.

The website was working again albeit very slowly, it had about a 30 sec load time for the dashboard and the site itself.

I decided to regenerate thumbnails and see if that would help, it took longer than usual but when it was done I got some errors involving images linked to folders that were created with the My Library Plus plugin even though those files should have been deleted and I cleared the cache. Shortly after that the site was unresponsive.

Our webmaster had to take our site down because it was causing other sites on the server to crash, he had to put our site on a Virtual Machine last night so we could troubleshoot it today.

Today when I went in to troubleshoot the site, the load time for every page was 5-8 minutes, I disabled all the plugins but that didn’t work. So I downloaded and activated the Twenty Fourteen theme and all of those issues went away. The load time was super quick and when I turned on all of the plugins everything still ran smoothly.

Anytime I try to activate Classico all of those issues come back. Have you guys ever encountered issues like this?

Thank you for all of your help!

    Hello,

I’ve activated Classico theme and tested site loading via this service http://www.webpagetest.org/result/160512_V8_P1X/1/details/ . As you can see slow loading is caused by images. Remove the ones that you don’t use and optimize the others.
