Getting Error 500 when using WordPress admin

Since a couple of weeks I get the following error almost all the time when I use WordPress Admin:
Server error!
The server has suffered an internal error and has been unable to complete your request. Either the server is overloaded or there is an error in the CGI script.
If you suspect a server error, please contact the webmaster.

This is what the hosting company says:
When do these errors occur?

Apache2, in place on our servers, no longer supports certain modules such as mod_auth_anon, mod_auth_dbm, mod_authz_dbm, mod_cern_meta, mod_imap, mod_imagemap, mod_mime_magic

What’s more, Apache2 is strict on syntax errors and when it encounters syntax errors in an .htaccess file, this can lead to 500 Internal Server Error or unexpected URL rewriting errors.

Thank you for getting in touch with us.

At first sight, we do not see how the problem is related to our theme.

Could you please temporarily activate another theme on site and check how it works?
If the problem is independent of the theme, we can’t assist you, unfortunately.

Please try to contact the support of WordPress. Also, ask the hosting provider what they recommend to do to fix the problem.

Read some online sources, for example – https://www.infomaniak.com/en/support/faq/106/resolve-a-500-internal-server-error
