Hi
In my previous topic, I have asked if what is the best way to show separate filter for Men & Women in shop sidebar.
I actually wanted a column in add product page to assign gender to any product same like there are columns to assign “brands” and “product category” ( https://prnt.sc/umcue7 )
You have advised me to create new attribute Gender with terms Men & Women and use the attribute filter widget in the shop sidebar.
This will definitely help in showing a separate filter in shop sidebar but I have some more requirements:
I want the men and women page links like yourdomain.com/shop/men and yourdomain.com/shop/women same like how each brand has its page… https://xstore.8theme.com/shop/brand/bikke/
Hello,
Use the link to the filtered page. Provide us with the WP Dashboard access and we’ll provide you these links because they depend on the attribute slug and term name, we need to check them.
Regards
Its actually little difficult for me to explain but let me try..
1. I have “Men” and “Women” as my website’s main menu items… so these will be like main pages of my website… I don’t want the URLs of main pages to look something like…
yourdomain.com/shop/?filter_gender=men&@#$%.
I would prefer yourdomain.com/shop/gender/men same like its yourdomain.com/shop/brand/bloom or yourdomain.com/product-category/bags
I think that’s recommended for SEO also.
2. When you go to particular brand’s page for example… https://xstore.8theme.com/shop/brand/bloom/
The filter’s on shop sidebar shows the options available only for that particular brand and not for all the products of the store (though its not 100% working) https://prnt.sc/v0lx28
But if I will make gender as an attribute, filter options will not show specific results related to specific Men or Women products.
Hello,
1) Unfortunately, WooCommerce does not have such option for the attribute terms by default. Try to contact WooCommerce support, maybe they will offer you some solution.
2) Filter by the attribute also shows the specific results only, not all the attributes, this is how WooCommerce plugin works.

But is there no way other than adding gender as attribute? Why you are not recommending making a new taxonomy? is it not possible or is it not good for SEO?
Hi
My issue is solved… I have used Custom Post Type UI plugin to create gender taxonomy.
Just one thing I want to know… does your theme provide any inbuilt feature to create filter widget for custom taxonomy? Or do I need to use some third party plugin?
Hello,
We don’t have filters for custom taxonomy. Only for the built-in things.
