External links are randomly redirecting to something else.

Hi, I noticed recently that certain pages, most often ones with external links will redirect to another link from my site, but not the one I have entered in the external product link box for the “buy here” button.

For example, on this page for Sol CBD oil – https://www.vitalvibesource.com/product/cbd-oil-sol-cbd/
In the backend, I have had this external link for months now – https://activation.isrefer.com/go/tincnat/VitalVibe/
It’s worked fine for all these months. Now suddenly after all of these latest updates, it redirects to – https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003B6P4UG/?tag=vitalvibesource-20
In fact, it’s not actually redirecting, it’s overriding somewhere..? When you hover over the button you see the later incorrect link, even though that link is nowhere to be found in the backend of that page…?

What could cause this, and what should I do?

Hi,

If you just copy this URL https://activation.isrefer.com/go/tincnat/VitalVibe/ and paste it in the address bar.
you will see it will not go to https://activation.isrefer.com/go/tincnat/VitalVibe/
It will go to somewhere else.

That means the product or link you are using is no more in the source site or they removed it and redirecting to some other product.
you have to ask this with the third party plugin support which you are using for this.

It does nothing with the theme.

I think you misunderstand. The link: https://activation.isrefer.com/go/tincnat/VitalVibe/ is a masked affiliate link that is supposed to automatically redirect to:
https://www.solcbd.com/products/sol-cbd-natural-flavor?affiliate=219
Which it does when you place it in the address bar directly.
The issue I am having is exactly as I described above. The link: https://activation.isrefer.com/go/tincnat/VitalVibe/ is placed inside the box in the back-end editor for where the buy button link should point to. Instead, it is mysteriously pointing to a random Amazon link that I have on a totally different page, but listed no where on that page (https://www.vitalvibesource.com/product/cbd-oil-sol-cbd/).

Hi,

You’re using any plugin’s for redirecting? In that case I suggest you to check that plugin settings. Or double check this link https://activation.isrefer.com/go/tincnat/VitalVibe/ Maybe check this link, where you copy this, make sure it still points to the right URL.

I am sure that this isn’t a theme’s issue.
