I am using my own child theme for Classico. I’m new to this and still building the site, so there’s essentially no content on my website yet. Problem: I want to have my screen width be 100%, but there’s this “Main Sidebar” which I can’t seem to remove.

In my WordPress Appearance-> Widgets screen, the “Main Sidebar” has zero items in it. However, my page displays a Search widget in that location. If I add a single widget there, (for example, Twitter Feed) the Twitter feed is the sole item in that location, so I know I have the right place.

I want to remove that sidebar to enable my screen content to be 100% wide on my whole site. How do I accomplish this.

I read Rose’s suggestion, it does remove the search box bit it does leave the sidebar section unused and the layout is not stretching even though the layout field has ‘wide layout’. This theme is very buggy and I already started hating it in 6 hours.

    go to,

pages >> your page >> edit

check on the section ‘8theme layout options’ below to the editor where you can see that you have set side bar or not for the page in ‘Sidebar Position’. select ‘without’ in this option

    Hello,
There are a lot of options for wide layout but our “100% width” demo content except header is built using “full-width” row element in Visual Composer. Please create your content within 100% width rows.
Please read this article about hwo to create full with content.

    Max,

I tried Amy’s response on one of the pages and I have full width page layout. We have more than 60 pages that we had created including our home page with 100% full width but after using this theme those pages got skewed because this theme injects additional attribute for the pages and they have to be tweaked, as it seems after the process completion.

    Thanks!
