As lots on the forum have been complaining about the latest woopress 3.0 installation causing issues I thought I would try it out and see if this is true.

Well, it’s true Woopress 3.0 breaks your website, blank home page with just my logo appeared.

With the latest Woopress 3.0 8 Theme now ask for product code.

Like most I’m sure I use a child theme, seems to be the issue here as when I go back to the parent theme it goes through a setup process?

I follow this, but this is more tailored to a new installation and not an upgrade?

I do this skipping certain things, I already have a child theme and content. I go back to my child theme and activate this and I’m back to a blank white home page again.

8 Theme, we have waited weeks for this upgrade so users can install woocommerce 3.0+ but the developers have made a hash of this update!

If your users are meant to install this a certain way there is no documentation to say this.

Luckily I backed up my whole website before doing this, but I advise anyone else to avoid upgrading to Woopress 3.0 until this is FIXED.

    Hi,

Exactly what happened to us !
And now we have to go back to Woocommerce 2.6 because WC 3.0 causes many issues with Woopress 2.9.

@saphiloche I think I found the issue here so might be worth you checking it out or your developer / web guy if you have one?

It seems the problem is with the Woopress update 3.0, it seems to load more header information compared to 2.9 version, I had header info in my child theme so I removed this, so it seems that anything header related will conflict with the new theme update.

Might be worth looking at any additional functions you might have added, for now I have Woopress 3.0 working with Woocommerce 3.0.4

I do have some issues with the theme update that I need 8 theme to address though.

Also 8 theme documentation on these major updates could be better IMO

    Hello,

I’m glad that you sorted out.
Please use our new theme version and Woocommerce 3.0.4, also update all required plugins https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/

    Regards,
    Rose Tyler.
