    Dear 8Theme,

We’re trying to configure our demo environment up to look exactly like your demo as shown here:
    https://www.8theme.com/demo/royal/?page_id=20268&et_styles=0-1-1-16-0-5

Despite some gaps in the documentation, I believe we’ve followed all of the instructions but things get very vague after Step 6.

We have installed the demo content and I selected the theme variation to match the flat retailer. When I load the site, I saw blog posts – so I changed the home page to be static home page (didn’t see that in the instructions). When I set it to home, I get a revolution slider not found error as follows “evolution Slider Error: Slider with alias home2 not found.”

So I tried to follow the instructions to import a slider, thinking that was missing. It’s not clear which slider is featured on flat retailer, so I attempted to load “Highlight Showcase” using instructions in step 8.

When I do that, I get the following error – “Fatal error: Call to a member function getStream() on a non-object in /home/fcda/public_html/wp2015/wp-content/plugins/revslider/includes/slider.class.php on line 924”

Assuming I’ve done everything correctly up through and including step 6, what are the next steps to properly replicate the demo environment as shown above?

The current development version of the site is here:
    http://beta.countryfriedserver.com/~fcda/wp2015/

    Thanks,

    Joe

    Hello,

The same problem with slider persists with default WordPress theme – Twenty Fifteen too.
You need contact Revolution Slider authors http://codecanyon.net/item/slider-revolution-responsive-wordpress-plugin/2751380/comments concerning this issue.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Hi Eva, thank you.

Part of the problem we are having, beyond the Revolution slider, is that the actual theme variation itself is not able to be installed. You will see that even though we’ve attempted to install the theme variation (Royal Home- Flat Retailer), the basic demo data is the only thing that is showing up on our site. After researching the documentation/videos, it’s obvious that it’s not working correctly as there is no success message after the one-click installation. (And I did manually change the permissions of the tmp file as stated in the video tutorial with no luck.)

I tried to find the xml files in the theme package so I could install manually as stated in the documentation, but I was unable to locate the xml file folder, even though I was able to locate the Revolution slider xml files. It seems like they should all be in a similar location but I looked all over and could not find the theme variation xml files!

Could you assist? At least with giving an exact location of the xml files? Or just by installing it directly? It would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

    Hey Eva,

Thanks. I followed your instructions to download the archive and import the XML file for “royal_home”. Although the import generated a success message, there doesn’t appear to be a change on the website – it still doesn’t look like the Royal Home demo. Are there additional steps that need to be followed?

    Please advise next step(s). Thanks.

    Joe

    Hello,

The page has been imported. You can find it in Pages section with the name “Flat retailer”. To make it your front page go to Settings > Reading > Front page. Unfortunately slider can’t be imported because of the error “Fatal error: Call to a member function getStream() on a non-object in /home/fcda/public_html/wp2015/wp-content/plugins/revslider/includes/slider.class.php on line 924”. The same issue persists with default WordPress theme too.
You need ask plugin authors concerning this problem.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

@Eva, can you send me the XML files too? I’m trying to make it look like Flat Retailer as well. I just purchased the theme and you can verify my account.
