is this a correct way to active child theme?
right now its zipped file, but when I unzip this, wp dashboard says please install parent theme “xstore”
Check the style.css file of the child theme. There is
Template: xstore line. You should change xstore to your parent theme if you changed the default parent theme folder name.
Also, keep in mind that you will need to import parent theme options to child theme to get all the settings, header layout etc. So, before child theme activation go to XStore > Theme Options > Import/Export > download the export file. And after child theme activation import this file at the same place (XStore > Theme Options > Import/Export > upload import file).
It’s because you removed theme version from the style.css of the parent theme. We don’t recommend you to do this.
I just simple add the child theme folder and update style.css of child theme and only replaced “xstore” with my theme folder name only
You are welcome.
