    Hi

I am using the sidebar version homepage and it looks great. However, I cant see a way to order the categories in the sidebar widget as they are ordered in the backend – using the categories drag and drop.
They just order alphabetically and as one of my categories is ‘Other Products’ it looks strange that this does not come last. This also happens on the products page.

The only way I can see I could do this is by copying the outputted widget HTML, modifying it into the correct order and then pasting it into a HTML block instead of using the widget. The problem with this (if it works) is that when new categories are added they wont automatically appear.

    Any help would be appreciated,

    Thanks, Nick

    Hello,

Unfortunately there is no order option for Product Categories element that is used in Visual Composer editor. You can only try to add Woocommerce Product Categories widget to some sidebar area in Appearance > Widgets and then select Widgetised sidebar element instead of Product Categories element in your home page editor.

    Please try it.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Thanks Eva

This does seem to work in a way for showing the high level categories on the homepage without dropdowns but wont work for the products page where there is the need to be able to browse.

Although on the homepage the heading for the widgetised sidebar isn’t quite right, the heading is there but the text title has a white background applied to it, so you cant actually see the heading, just a white block where the underlying text is. Any ideas as to why? I guess I can fix this through custom CSS…

    Thanks.

Also regarding this issue, should the categories on the actual product page reflect the order defined by drag and drop order in WC? I notice in your demo site these are alphabetical also.

    Regards,

    Nick

    Hello

Please add following code to the custom.css for widget header:
    .widget_product_categories .widget-title span { background-color: #3399cc!important;}

    Hi Brian

That is what I thought – yet the category listing on my product page is showing alphabetical, it does not order as I have defined using drag and drop in the backend.
Is there a setting I need to change?

    Regards,

    Nick

    Hello,

You need to use Woocommerce Product Categories widget in Appearance > Widgets and drag it to Shop Sidebar area. There you can select order type.

    With best regards
