  Hello,

  sry, one more glitch. If there is more than one category assigned to a product, the highlighting in the product category widget only works for the first category (e.g. when looking at the single product category)

  Hello,

  that’s a misunderstanding. I was talking about the category list widget.

  Please check the lower part of the previously linked screenshot. Only the first category is highlighted.

  Only one category can be shown as a current item. This is not a bug, this is how WordPress works.
