I would like to eliminate the cache data for the [share] shortcode in the header, for Facebook, Pinterest. It works correctly for Twitter and Google+.
I have tried to clear the facebook cache as described here:
https://www.8theme.com/blog/clearing-facebooks-share-cache/ and changed the demo cache, however it is now showing “width=device-width, initial-scale=1, maximum-scale=2.0” under the header.
How can I edit this to use the sites tagline instead?
How do I also “debug” the sharing button for Pinterest? When I share using the Pinterest button, it continues to show the original demo image.
Thank you,
ccushing
Hello,
As I see share icons work properly:

Please clear your browser cache and cookies and check again.

Thank you. The images shared for both are now correct.
However for the Facebook sharing meta data below the image & site name still mentions the snowboard demo content. It states “A full range of discount, end of line and clearance snowboard clothing is available to buy both online and in our outlets”.
How do I change that sentence? Thanks.
Hello,
You can disable standard open graph tags in the file wp-content/themes/royal/framework/theme-functions.php, delete the code in lines 1231-1235.
Best regards,
Jack Richardson.
Jack,
Thanks. That’s how I can delete the meta description content. Can you tell me how I can edit / change it too?
Thanks,
ccushing
Hello
Please clarify your request with more details. Would you like to remove it for certain page or for all pages?
Regards,
Brian Johnson
When I click on the Facebook share button in the menu (which I created using the shortcode [share]) it opens a new tab in my browser on Facebook. The title of the shared content is the title of my homepage. the content below the title is meta data that states
“A full range of discount, end of line and clearance snowboard clothing is available to buy both online and in our outlets.”
I’d like to be able to change that meta data to something more relevant to my site content.
Thank you.
