When I try to update from 2.7.1 to the current version, I get a blank, white page instead of the website.

    Hello,

We can’t connect to your server via FTP.
Please check the credentials or specify if there are any special settings for FTP client.

    Regards,

    Hello,

As I see you are using old versions of WordPress and required plugins. You need to update them as well if you update a theme.
To download the latest plugins versions go to https://www.8theme.com/download-plugins/

    Best regards,

As soon as I updated Visual Composer the entire site went blank again. I can’t even find where the plugin files are for this one (they don’t seem to be located in the plugins folder like a normal plugin) so I can’t even rewrite the backup files. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I found the plugin folder (js_composer), and I’ve updated WordPress and the plugin that I am using (slider). The visual composer crashed the site when I went to update it…even before being able to update to the new theme.

    Hello,

After you update theme and Visual Composer you need to recreate elements on your pages via VC editor as the problem is caused by elements from old visual composer plugin.

    Best regards,
