    hello 8theme support,

    I have a general question:

Our store is currently in German. We are planning to translate our store into 2 languages in the future.

I wanted to start translating some strings of the theme to german with loco translate, because xstore is not 100% in german.

Does it make sense to translate with loco translate now? Or should I translate directly to German with WPML?

PS: Which plugin for multilingualism and multi currency do you recommend for xstore?

    Thanks in advance!

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting us and for using XStore.

It’s great to hear that you are planning to expand your store’s language offerings. Using Loco Translate to begin translating theme strings into German can be a good starting point, especially for any strings that are not yet translated. This will allow you to have a more complete German version of your store right away.

When you are ready to add additional languages, WPML is a powerful plugin that we recommend for creating a multilingual website. It is compatible with XStore and will enable you to manage translations across multiple languages efficiently https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/theme-translation/translation-with-wpml/ . WPML also offers multi-currency functionality, which should cover your needs for both multilingualism and multi-currency support.

In summary, you can start with Loco Translate for your immediate German translations and then move on to WPML when you are ready to add more languages to your store.

We would like to inform you that XStore is compatible with WPML and other multilingual translation plugins. However, we particularly recommend WPML as it is highly regarded by our clients and offers robust support. For further information, you may find this article helpful: https://colorlib.com/wp/wordpress-multilingual-plugins/

Once you have decided on the multilingual plugin you wish to use, we advise consulting with their support team regarding whether to use Loco Translate initially or how best to organize the translation process. Please be assured that our theme does not impose any special restrictions or requirements for translation.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team
