How can I make the Author and categories look better – apparently i shows all the content

This article works when I edit the post. I use the visual composer and the content doesn’t need a read more button I like it to show complete. I show my post thought a Post Grid in the pages I need them where where readers can see featured image, tittle and excerpt.

When a person is reading a post they click on the category or author where the post is published, and it shows all the post under that category or author.

It show a grid os post but with the complete content not only featured image, tittle and excerpt. Where can I control the way the theme shows the content filtered by category or author.

To show excerpts you need add “Read more” tag as described in the article.

I do not understand….

Do I have to change the way I design my post for them to look different in the category or author grid?

Do you want to show excerpt of your post on Blog page?
If so you need add “more” tag to your posts as described in our article:

But I do not want to truncate my blog entries – If I do this all the work made with Visual Composer is hidden and speaking in marketing terms, this means an action for the readers, one more step for them to access the content. You need a better way to show entries in home and archive pages without truncate it with a “more” tag

Hello,

Our theme supports “more” tag by default and not excerpt that is available in post editor.
To show excerpts you need edit theme file – wp-content/themes/royal/content.php.
Unfortunately this is beyond our basic support scope and if you have necessary skills you can edit the file yourself. This article may be helpful:
