Animated GIF Featured Image for Woocommerce Listing Page

    Hello, I would like to use an animated image for my product listing page. But it stays static in the listing page. Can you help me find a way to do it? It seems like we can’t do it on our own. Your developers can give us a short explanation.

    Hello,

    Do you have this issue with the XStore theme only or also with the Storefront theme (default WooCommerce theme)? Go to Appearance > Themes > install and activate Storefront theme and check. Provide us with video using Gyazo gif how it works with the default Storefront theme.

    Hi Olga,
    I checked this issue online and found that this is common problem on WordPress/WooCommerce. Because WordPress creates multiple thumbnail and makes animated GIF as static since it takes only the first frame.
    Can u please assign any animated GIF as featured image there by yourself. And you can see yourself. I do not think storefront will do any good.
    Maybe here in x-store we can accomplish this.

    Animated featured image in the listing page could be very powerful feature especially drop-shipping store.

    PS: Animated GIF works in product page but not working in listing page only.

    Hello,

    Point is that we use default WooCommerce functions to display images. So, if you want to change that you need additional customization. Read this WooCOmmerce topic https://wordpress.org/support/topic/gif-as-product-image/
