    ….this is getting very worrying.

Related article section under a post no longer follows the same format as in the block list….

What is going on at 8theme?

    Hello,

Could you please provide a screenshot for a better understanding of the problem? What exactly doesn’t look as it should in related posts?

PS. We suggest you disable some “custom scrolling” feature on your website. It is impossible to view your website on Mac.

    Regards

    Hello Serg,

Images are in the private area.

I remember the related posts section showing the categories in a coloured rectangle on top of to the top left of the post image, which it is not doing. But it is doing that nicely everywhere else, e.g. in the second image in the private content.

Consistency is absolutely key, otherwise appearance and branding is killed. That’s the entire point of a theme.

Hopefully I have explained well enough. Could you fix this?

Secondly, thanks for highlighting your scroll on a Mac problem. That is helpful, I use Linux myself and we have tested on Windows and Android, but not a Mac. We do have the Ultimate Addons Smooth Scroll feature on. I didn’t know that could be quirky and have disabled on the mainsite.

    Many thanks,

    R.

    Hello,

We see that related posts on the blog now come from some additional plugin and are not related to our theme at all. That is why they look absolutely different.

    Regards

Thanks Serg. The confusion is clearer now. The WP Jetpack related post feature overlaps with yours.

If we enable your related posts, yes, you are right, these look perfect. BUT, there is a default related posts feature in WP, with settings that you can adjust like on WP.com. This means we end up with both yours and that one.

I imagine many people will get this problem too but think that it is a default WP feature to removed by a child theme or plugin like on docs for wordpress.COM… but not in the case of real/self-installs. That feature comes from Jetpack on selfinstalls.

    Hope that helps others too,

    R.
