    Hi Rose,

The link in th eprivate area does not work for me but I already have a copy of the WPBakery 6.10.0 plugin.

Can you explain what you mean by the widgets getting messed up and how I can prevent that happening when moving across to Storefront please. I’m not keen to undertake any testing which could leave the site messed up as it is an active important site.

    Thanks
    Ian

    Hello,

You need to make test of the plugin version we sent you. What file sharing service works for you?
Try to download archive of the plugin by new link from the Private Content area.
Just open the Appearance > Widgets tab before activation Storefront theme, and do not close this tab. Once tests will be done and you activate XStore theme back, go to Appearance > Widgets in new tab and compare content of widgets areas in 2 tabs. Maybe all will be the same, in case some widgets changes their places you, you need to place as they were, thats all.

    Hi Rose,

    I’ve been investigating further.

I’ve updated the site to the latest version of xstore theme/plugin and made updates to the other plugins – all latest versions.

I have another instance of Xstore running a website https://nigelhoyleceramics.co.uk and have upgraded it to WPBakery 6.10.0 without any problems. The plugins are very similar to those with the ajw-veh-fittings.co.uk install except for the caching plugin, I’m using WP-Optimize instead of W3, but overall there are more plugins installed.

I noticed that Jetpack had lazy load enabled with ajw-veh-fittings but not with nigelhoyleceramics, so I disabled it in Jetpack and tried the update but same issue is apparent. I then disabled and removed the W3 caching plugin and tried the update to WPBakery – same results!

I’m at a bit of a loss as both sites are running on the same hosting environment, have pretty much the same plugins, have the same theme and yet one exhibits the issue and the other one doesn’t.

I’m loathed to try storefront as I don’t want to mess up the configuration and I’m not sure it points to a theme issue…

    Any other ideas please?

    Thanks
    Ian

    Hello,

It is strange situation because we do not get reports about such problem from other our customers, and there is no this problem on our test sites.
It seems to have changed wp-admin access, we can’t log in now. Please provide correct access to site where the problem persists. If your site is live, create a staging site (a full copy of the live site, so we can do tests there).
Also, record a video of the problem, so I can pass it to our dev team.

    Regards

    Hello Rose,

The site is very much a live site so I will look into creating a staging site. The details for the live site are in the private contact area again…

Once I have created the staging site I will pass the details on with a video of the problem.

    Many thanks

    Hi Rose,

I’ve created the staging site using a plugin, WP Staging, which uses a sub-directory for the site. The url is https://ajw-veh-fittings.co.uk/ajwtest/

WP user name and password in the private content area.

I updated the WPBakery plugin to 6.10.0 and the same issue exists as on the live site and which you saw originally. All plugins are up to date. Please bear in mind that the main site is very much live and important please. The staging site has an orange wordpress top bar to distinguish it from the main site.

I’ve not taken a video but I guess you can do that if need for your development guys.

    Good luck and many thanks,

    Ian

    Hello,

    Thanks for the reply.
Do you see the problem on the staging site?
We can see the content on pages with animations, without any problems(Chrome and Safari browsers). Please check video the Private Content area.

    Hello Rose,

I confirmed that the animations now work on the staging site on Firefox (the browser I generally use) as well as others. So, I’ve upgraded WPBakery on the live site, again, and the result has been loss of content and animations across all browsers.

For now I’ve left the live site on WPBakery 6.10.0 and inserted the additional CSS code you provided which has restored the content minus animations. Whilst I no longer have a caching plugin I’m wondering if there is some kind of caching taking place which is leaving the content missing for a period and then updating correctly. I’ll try removing the additional CSS after a few hours and see if the animations return and content stays.

Can you think of anything else I should try please?

    Very strange.

    Hello Rose,

Hopefully this is the last message!!

I cleared the browser cache and removed the additional CSS code after a couple of hours and the animations are working as they should whist on WPBakery 6.10.0. All I can think is that some caching is taking place and that wqas impacting the upgrade, anyway all working correctly now.

Thank you so much for your support and suggestions, it has made a big difference.

I will reintroduce W3 caching plugin at some point after testing on the staging site as it did speed up the site.

    Best regards
    Ian Barker
