Hello,

1) Fixed. Check.
2) This is default select http://prntscr.com/l56cx5 Before the update we used fancy select to change the styles of the default selects (for example https://codepen.io/demersdesigns/pen/CKnmF) but it was removed to speed up the theme, native selects are more usable and accessible but they do not have options to change the styles. Currency switcher plugin uses the default selects if you check their demo. If you like the fancy select you can implement it for the currency switcher by additional customization.

Thank you Olga,

We’re always getting issues with this plugin, which is one we have paid extra for.

I wonder if there is another currency switcher you would recommend so we don’t come across these hurdles in the future?

Hello,

Unfortunately, we did not look for plugins for the currency switchers who use the custom selectors, so don’t have suggestions for you.
