Only displaying subcategories. - by Ali Akil

    Hi, tryed to update woocommerce and the new 8theme to my site. I dont know why but the categories are not showing, only the subcategories are displaying. (normaly the categories and the subcategories are shown in the category widget) so, I went back and restored files and data base. I tested and I saw the categories displaying right. I added some products and whenI saw the page again the categories were missing and only the subcategories are displaying. can you please have a look?

    Hello,

    May we update the theme and Woocommerce plugin?
    Please confirm you have a back up.

    Hello,

    I’ve updated theme and Woocommerce plugin, but the issue is caused by WPML plugin. The issue persists with default WordPress theme too. Disable WPML plugins and you’ll see parent categories are shown.
    You have to contact WPML support concerning this problem.

    mmm I did not update them, they must be updated manualy. That is why in my other site every thing is ok. I will update them and see. thanks.

    I updated the wpml plugins and the problem is not solved. I will contact them. Are you sure the issue is becouse of the WPML?

    Hello,

    Please disable WPML plugins and check it yourself.
    When the plugins are deactivated categories are shown properly.

    Hi, in english languege is displaying ok the categories when updated. I this its wpml issue.

    I will contact theme.

    Hi, Till now wpml did not solve the issue. They say that its a Theme issue. I will do my test and see what is going on. I told wpml that the issue is not with the theme as you said but something is telling me that is with the theme. Please take another look into this issue.

    Update, categories showing right in German languege. Other longueges are incorrect. They must be like german but diferent languege. Spanish showing only subcategories.

    Hello,

    We are able to help in case the problem is present with our theme only! If you see the same bug with default WooCommerce theme it means that not our theme is the reason of the problem. You are using default WooCommerce widget to display categories, not our theme widget, so, don’t think our theme may cause issues with it. Any way, could you send us link to topic with your conversation with WPML support, we’ll join the conversation to sort out.

    Hi,

    we contacted WPML and also let them know about this topic. They have my issue now in “Compatibility Department”. Now we must wait.

    This is strange becouse I use same plugins and themes in 2 sites and in the other site is ok.

    Hi,

    WPML fixed the issue with WooCommerce tools. Steps:

    #1 Go to WooCommerce > System Status > Tools
    #2 And click “recount terms”.
