    Hi there,

    We currently have some product categories with no products i.e. they are empty. We would like to keep these product categories visible in the main menu, but display a ‘new products coming soon’ message if the visitor clicks on the link. I asked WooThemes if they could recommend a plugin/extension that would allow us to do this, and they replied that:
    ‘Your theme may not have category descriptions set to display on an individual category page; you may need to add it directly into your theme’s template override’.
    I wanted to check that is the case? Any advice appreciated!

    Best wishes, Andrea

    Hello,

    You can add text for empty category in Theme Options > Shop > “Text for empty category”.

    Regards,
    Eva Kemp.

    Eva, thanks, that’s fantastic. Sorry, I hadn’t noticed it in theme options.
    Sorry, I formatted the text as per the text for empty cart i.e. h2 heading. Is it possible to hide the magnifying glass icon?

    Hi Stan,

    How do I attach a screen shot to this message, thanks?

    The magnifying glass only appears if the text is formatted as Heading 2. It doesn’t appear if I format the text in another heading (I want to keep it h2 so that it is consistent with the text for empty cart formatting). In the same way, the h2 on the text for empty cart formatting generates a shopping bag. Hope that helps?

    Best wishes, Andrea

    Hello,

    Please add this code in custom.css:

    .empty-category-block h2:before {
      display: none;
    }

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
