    Hi 8Theme Team,

We’re running XStore on a WooCommerce site and have identified two issues through a server-side performance investigation that we believe are related to the theme’s cart/mini-cart handling.

    1) Mini Cart for WooCommerce plugin – high error volume
Our PHP error logs show approximately 974,000 warning entries generated by the “Mini Cart for WooCommerce” component, along with active WooCommerce fatal errors. This has caused the PHP error log to grow to roughly 104GB. Could you help identify the root cause of these warnings/fatals and confirm whether this is a known issue with the current theme/plugin version?

    2) Cart page / AJAX fragment refresh – high PHP worker load
During the same investigation we observed a large volume of requests to /?wc-ajax=get_refreshed_fragments and /wp-admin/admin-ajax.php, which are uncached and require full PHP processing. Our PHP-FPM worker pool (limit: 50 workers) was saturating, with some workers taking up to ~480 seconds to complete. We suspect the mini cart’s fragment-refresh behavior may be triggering these calls more frequently or inefficiently than necessary, especially under bot/crawler traffic.

    Could your team:
    – Review the Mini Cart plugin for the source of the warning/fatal errors noted above
    – Advise whether the cart fragment refresh can be optimized, cached, or rate-limited to reduce PHP load
    – Let us know if there’s a fix, patch, or configuration change available

    Thanks

    Hi Jack,

Thanks for the response. To rule out the third-party plugin, we disabled “Mini Cart for WooCommerce” and tested using XStore’s own default mini-cart/add-to-cart widget instead — the issue still occurs, so this is not limited to the third-party plugin.

Specifically, we’re seeing an incorrect quantity bug with your default widget: when a customer selects a quantity of 1 and adds it to the cart, the mini cart sometimes shows a quantity of 2 instead. This happens with the third-party plugin fully deactivated, using only XStore’s built-in add-to-cart/mini-cart functionality.

Could you please investigate and fix this quantity bug on the default mini-cart widget? We’d like to move forward using only the default widget once this is resolved.

Happy to provide screen recordings or further diagnostic detail if useful.

    Thanks.

    Dear @pckeycallout,

We have conducted tests on the mini-cart using our built-in widget and did not encounter any issues (please refer to the attached video in the private content). During our initial visit to your website, we observed that the mini-cart widget from the plugin was in use. Consequently, we temporarily disabled its display on devices (see the screenshot in the private content) and implemented our built-in widget for testing purposes.

Also, we tested the issue with plugin mini-cart templates and also could not recreate the issue on our side.

We encourage you to conduct a similar test. If you are able to replicate the issue where 2-3 items are added per add-to-cart action, kindly provide us with the steps or a video demonstrating the issue. This will enable us to assist you more effectively in resolving the problem, as we have not been able to replicate it on our end.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson
