Variable product gallery displays only one image

Hello, we have a variable product with the following setup: - the parent product has one assigned image, - each selected variation has two assigned images. The two variation images are correctly present in the variation metadata: _product_image_gallery et_variation_gallery_images The variation data sent to the frontend also contains two gallery images. However, on the frontend, after selecting a variation, only one image is displayed. The second image is not available in the gallery. The issue occurs regardless of whether the XStore Variation Gallery option is enabled or disabled. We also noticed that: - the Variation Gallery option is no longer available in the standard XStore configuration, - but it is still available in Live Theme Options, - changing this option does not resolve the problem. The issue appears to concern the frontend gallery initialization after the variation gallery is loaded. The variation data contains two images, but only one is rendered or made available by the gallery. Please investigate and fix the variable product gallery so that all images assigned to the selected variation are displayed. In private section you find product URL, screenshots etc.

Hello,

We have some ideas regarding the issue occurring on your website, it is caused by the latest version of WooCommerce. Could you please clarify whether you have managed only the mentioned product or if you have multiple items configured with variation galleries?

I have numerous variable products 🙂 many of them requiring several images; however, the system is currently displaying only one image .. .an d yes .. it must be related to latest woocommerce as it introduced variable galleries if I’m not mistaken.

Hello @Krzysztof,

We propose implementing some test cases on one of your products. If the solution meets your approval, you will need to configure other product variations in the same manner. This is necessary because WooCommerce has activated a built-in feature for the variation gallery, which has overridden the configuration of other similar functionalities if they were activated. Therefore, we suggest disabling with code the built-in feature and creating the variation galleries using the settings provided by our theme. Please note that the current configuration of your variation products may be lost.

If by “current configuration” you refer to variation images, then I am fine. However, once the built-in feature is disabled, I need to be informed about which metadata must be updated with image IDs and which should be cleared, as I have my own system for cleaning and normalizing images after imports are completed by the WP All Import plugin. Additionally, I presume this solution is merely a temporary measure until the built-in or default WooCommerce galleries are functional, correct?

We have thoroughly reviewed the issue but, unfortunately, were unable to resolve it on your website. We have now documented your request and will work on finding a solution on our local websites. We apologize for the delay, as we are currently managing a high volume of tasks. In the meantime, you can use only the static gallery for your variable products, rather than the variations gallery.

Could we kindly request permission to upload our testing archive to your staging website for testing purposes? Also, can you please, attach the temporary FTP access to your staging web-site so we could safely check the templates if needed. Additionally, could you please provide us with some products that have been configured with variation galleries on your staging site, or should we create such products ourselves or modify the existing ones?

Yes, you can upload to our staging anything you need
Our hosting platform does not support FTP (sec reasons). You may, however, install a file manager of your choice as a plugin … there is one already installed 🙂

When the XSTORE Variation Gallery is activated, all features operate seamlessly as intended. Conversely, when the WooCommerce Variation Gallery is enabled, only the first image from the gallery is displayed, as if the Woo Variation Gallery were not activated at all.

Additionally, I conducted tests on two sites: one within a staging environment using the XSTORE template/builder, and another where we have transitioned to the Elementor Builder template for the product page.
The XSTORE builder performs well in all scenarios. However, the Elementor builder-based page encounters significant issues when left thumbnails are enabled. Please refer to the video shared privately for further details.

We conducted tests on your website and observed an issue specifically with the reset gallery action. However, the images are displayed and positioned correctly in your gallery, whether using our built-in feature or the WooCommerce variation gallery. A video demonstrating this is attached in the private content. Additionally, we tested the vertical gallery and have included a video of our testing in the private content for your review.

We are almost there 🙂 previous issues solved, however, there remains a minor issue with lightbox.
When the XSTORE variation gallery is selected, and a variant is chosen, the lightbox fails to activate, causing the image to open in the full browser window instead. The lightbox functions correctly in the main parent product gallery. The lightbox issue seems to be specifically related to the variations gallery on the Elementor builder-based single product template.

The issue has been resolved, thank you.
I do have one request, if I may. As I was rather impatient :-), I copied this version of the theme and the et-plugin onto my production site as well. Almost everything is functioning properly, except that the variable selection reset does not perform the same as it does on the staging site, and the main photo does not revert to the default. Could there be any additional configurations on the staging site that won’t be replicated when I transfer the plugin and theme?

I observed an additional issue: The XSTORE Theme Options do not display all the same options that are visible in the “Live Theme Options”. This discrepancy appears to occur specifically on pages using the XSTORE single product builder, and not when using Elementor. Please refer to the videos below for further clarification.

I conducted a test and found that, overall, everything functions well , than you for that 🙂
The only remaining issue (see my previous post) is that in the standard XStore theme options panel, I am missing options that are available in the “Live Theme Options” panel. Specifically, there is no “single product page” section nor “Variation Gallery”. This is not a significant problem since all of those options are accessible in “Live Theme Options” However, you might consider ensuring consistency across all areas where configuration changes can be made.

This section is also available in your backend settings: (https://gyazo.com/4232af6d623ff70d7c1a39116fabb4e3). However, if you wish to use the Single Product Builder (Customizer), this section can only be accessed through the Live Theme Options, as the builder section and actions are designed exclusively for Customizer purposes and not for backend settings.

Since you have confirmed that all combinations and variation gallery types are functioning correctly on your website, we will proceed with implementing our improvements in the global archive for the next update release.
