  For the same parent product, the only difference with variations (size/color) are the variation images. The price, shipping classes, etc. are all the same. It is my understanding that each variation selection (re)loads a bunch of ajax. Is there a way to turn that off?

  Hello @Safe Desires,

  This combination of variation data is required by the WooCommerce plugin, as each variation must include these attributes, even if they share the same values as the parent product. Unfortunately, such reconfiguration cannot be implemented from the theme side, since the structural framework (prototype) is defined according to WooCommerce’s requirements.
