    Hello,

I am setting up my webshop https://vapmak.com.mk using the XStore theme with WooCommerce, specifically the Electronic Mega Market demo.

    My main categories are:

    Commercial

    Industrial

    Robotic Cleaners

    Service

Both Commercial and Industrial have the same 4 subcategories:

    Detergents

    Floor Cleaners

    Pressure Washers

    Vacuum Cleaners

I would like to ask for clarification when creating categories. WooCommerce asks to choose a Display Type for each category. Could you please advise what should be selected in these cases:

What Display Type should be used for main categories?

What Display Type should be used for subcategories?

I want to make sure the categories are displayed correctly on the Shop page with the Electronic Mega Market layout.

    Thank you for your help.

Also, I would like the Shop sidebar categories to be clearly structured and lined up on the left, where the main categories appear in bold, and the subcategories are listed underneath them so the hierarchy is easy to see.

Could you please advise how to properly configure this with the Electronic Mega Market layout?

    Thank you for your assistance.

    Hi,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

Please read this article – https://woocommerce.com/document/managing-product-taxonomies/

To display categories and subcategories on the shop page in a vertical menu format, go to WordPress Dashboard > Appearance > Widgets. Add the “Product Categories” widget to the desired widget area (e.g., Shop Sidebar) . Ensure the “Show hierarchy” option is enabled to display subcategories.

Unfortunately, the category filter does not have such functionality. However, you can use the default WooCommerce widget “Product Categories” and select the “Show hierarchy” option within it.

If you would like to request additional options, we kindly ask you to submit your request on our task board: https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/
Should your suggestion receive sufficient support from other customers, our development team will carefully consider implementing it in a future update.

    Warm Regards,
    The 8Theme Team
