Could you please access my website and straighten things out? It is running very slow with a Google PageSpeed of 31 and was continuously crashing last week due to high traffic volume and excessive PHP processes running. My server host would kill the processes, the website would work again, and then crash again the next day. I have moved from a shared plan to a VPN, which has prevented my website from crashing, but is still having speed issues due to excessive processes running.

HostGator keeps recommending to optimize my website. I have the LiteSpeed Cache plugin. I have deleted unused plugins. When it gets into all the settings, I’m not sure what I need, what I don’t need. I’m now at a loss and would really appreciate your help fine tuning things. The XStore theme came with a lot of additional plugins and I must not be using them correctly. Your expertise on the settings would be incredibly appreciated.

    Thank you,

    Anna

    Hello @whym,

After reviewing the active plugins on your website, we found that several of them are currently activated but could be safely removed:

    – XStore Advanced Sticky Header – Since you are using the Elementor-based header builder, this plugin is unnecessary.
    – XStore White Label Branding – Once you have configured your branding settings, this plugin can also be removed. More details are available in the documentation: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/white-label-branding-plugin/

Regarding other plugins, please note that the required ones are automatically installed during the demo import process. In your case, these are “XStore Core”, “Elementor”, “Pro Elements”, and “WooCommerce”.

You also have the “Slider Revolution” plugin installed, but no slides have been created with it. However, its assets (scripts and styles) are still being loaded across your pages, which affects page loading speed. If you are not using this plugin, we recommend removing it.

We also noticed that you have installed the “WPCode Lite” plugin for creating custom snippets, but there are no active snippets (see: https://prnt.sc/wi7jGrnvaMBc). Therefore, this plugin can also be removed.

Since you are using our built-in “Archive Products Builder” with integrated functionality for Ajax product loading, there is no need to keep the “WooCommerce Infinite Scroll and Ajax Pagination” plugin, which is currently installed and activated. More information about our builder can be found here: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/xstore-builders/xstore-products-archive-builder-with-elementor/

For the remaining plugins, please review their purpose and remove any that are not essential to your website’s functionality.

For detailed guidance on improving your website’s performance, please refer to our comprehensive optimization guide:

Thank you for all those suggestions. I have removed the unused plugins and the speed went up a few points. It looks like under my Site Health, that many of the current performance issues are related to cache. A critical issue listed is “Page cache is detected but the server response time is still slow.” If caching issues are outside the scope of support for XStore theme, could you direct me to the right contact? I would greatly appreciate it. And thank you for going through my plugins and informing me of which ones I do not need.

    Hello @whym,

We are pleased to know that the information we provided about active plugins was helpful to you.

Regarding the speed optimization issues, we previously shared an article from our documentation that covers optimization recommendations. We noticed that you have the LiteSpeed plugin activated, but some configurations could be improved. For example, the browser cache is currently disabled, as shown in your Site Health section (https://prnt.sc/IERHzpUhjlF3), and the object cache setting is also disabled in your caching plugin (https://prnt.sc/d_hTWyaouGU_). These issues are also reflected in your Tools page (https://prnt.sc/wCgVTPHpl_7_). You can find more information about setting the Litespeed plugin settings in their documentation: https://docs.litespeedtech.com/lscache/noplugin/settings/. Also, you can submit your topic on their support forum on via chat on their web-site.

We recommend reviewing the following article for more information on resolving such issues: https://developer.wordpress.org/advanced-administration/performance/optimization/#caching. You will also find related articles there addressing other issues identified in your Site Health page, which may require adjustments on your server, in the .htaccess file, or in the wp-config file.

Please note that such optimizations are outside the scope of our support policy. We kindly ask you to review the referenced documentation, and if necessary, contact your hosting provider for further assistance.

    Best regards,
