    Hello,

I downloaded the official Romanian translation files for XStore and XStore Core.
I followed exactly the steps shown in your video tutorial:
    – uploaded the .po files
    – used the correct file names
    – placed them in the correct folders
    – set WordPress site language to Romanian (ro_RO)
    – cleared all caches

However, all frontend strings are still displayed in English.

I also tried translating these strings via Loco Translate (theme + plugins), but the changes do not appear on the frontend.

Could you please advise what might be missing or what else needs to be configured for the translations to work correctly?

Thank you in advance for your help!

    Hello, Szilvia,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

We appreciate the detailed information you have provided regarding the translation issue. Please ensure that both the theme and plugin translation files are placed in the following recommended locations:
    – **Theme translations:** /wp-content/languages/themes/
    – **Plugin translations:** /wp-content/languages/plugins/

Also, confirm that the file names strictly follow the correct format, for example:
    xstore-ro_RO.po and xstore-ro_RO.mo
    xstore-core-ro_RO.po and xstore-core-ro_RO.mo

After verifying the file locations and names, please try the following steps:
    1. Re-save the translations in Loco Translate to regenerate the .mo files.
    2. Clear all caches again, including any caching plugins and server-side cache.
    3. Check if the translations appear when switching temporarily to a default WordPress theme (such as Twenty Twenty-Four) to rule out conflicts.

If the issue persists, please provide us with temporary admin access in a private message so we can inspect the configuration directly and assist you further.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team

    Hello,

I have renamed the translation files correctly and placed them in the recommended locations
    (/wp-content/languages/themes/ and /wp-content/languages/plugins/).

However, the theme and plugin texts (buttons, labels, frontend strings) are still not being translated on the site.

The issue is most visible when interacting with the site, for example when adding a product to the cart or to the wishlist. In these cases, none of the buttons or labels are translated.

I am providing temporary admin access below so you can check the issue directly.

    Thank you for your help.

    Best regards,
    Szilvia

Could you please clear CDN cache and check the result now?

If this doesn’t help, provide us with FTP access.
For FTP access, we require the following details: FTP host, FTP username, FTP password, FTP port, and FTP encryption type. If you need assistance in creating these credentials, please reach out to your hosting provider who will guide you through the process.

    Hello,

Thank you very much for your help so far. I really appreciate it – most of the translations are now working correctly.

There are still a few texts that are not translated on the frontend, even though I have verified in Loco Translate that they are translated there. The remaining untranslated texts are:
    • On the Shop page sidebar: “Product Categories” and “Price”
    • In the side mini cart panel (the slide-in panel that appears from the side when adding a product to the cart): “Shopping Cart” and “My Account”
    • On the Cart page, in the table header: “Product”, “Price” and “Quantity”

All of these strings are translated in Loco Translate, but they still appear in English in the UI.

Could you please check why these specific labels are not applied on the frontend and help resolve this issue?

Thank you again for your assistance.

    Best regards,
    Szilvia
