    Hi there,

    Good day to you.

I need help with header and category page related issues on my website.

Category sidebar showing collapsed by default
On the category page, the “Categories” section in the sidebar is collapsed by default. I want this category list to be expanded and visible by default when the page loads.

    Screenshot: https://snipboard.io/P1g860.jpg

Please guide us how to achieve it.

Add a scrolling menu below the main header menu
My header is built using the theme header builder, not Elementor. I want to add a fourth section below the main menu that contains a horizontally scrolling menu (marquee-style category or links menu).

I am looking to achieve a layout of scrolling menu similar to this example website:

Please guide us how to achieve it.

    Thank you for your support.

    Hello,

    1. Category Sidebar Expanded by Default
To have the “Categories” section in the sidebar expanded by default, please go to Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop Elements > Categories Accordion and disable the “Keep categories closed by default” option. If you are using a custom widget or sidebar, please make sure that the widget settings do not include an accordion or toggle function that keeps the list collapsed. If the issue persists, please provide us with your admin account details so we can check it further.

    2. You may also try using the Marquee XStore Element: https://prnt.sc/48-SD4kQlTe6

You mentioned the option Theme Options > WooCommerce > Shop Elements > Categories Accordion, however I could not find this setting in the theme options on my side. I checked all relevant WooCommerce and shop-related sections, but I don’t see an option like “Keep categories closed by default” or “Categories Accordion”.

Regarding the scrolling menu, my header is currently built using the native header builder, not Elementor. I want to confirm the correct approach before making any structural changes.

Can you please clarify whether it is possible to add a scrolling or marquee-style menu using the native header builder itself? Or would I need to completely rebuild the header using Elementor in order to use the Marquee element?

    Hello @khurram virk,

We apologize for the misunderstanding regarding your request. After carefully reviewing the screenshot, we found that the “Advanced Mode” option is currently enabled for the “Categories” widget (https://prnt.sc/OWH5ppZ1zrgO) under “Theme Options → WooCommerce → Shop Elements → Categories”. You can disable this option and check the result. Additionally, there are other settings that might be useful for you: https://prnt.sc/PmBI3IXFaj4p.

Regarding your question about the marquee, please note that the current header builder in the Customizer is limited in terms of layout areas, allowing a maximum of three rows, and it does not include the specific widget you are looking for. However, the Elementor-based Header Builder offers unlimited widgets and rows, and it also includes a dedicated widget that may meet your needs. You can try using the Elementor-based builder, and there is no need to start from scratch, as we provide pre-built templates for the most popular header layouts that you can import and modify. More information is available in our documentation: https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/xstore-builders/new-xstore-header-builder-with-elementor/

If you have any further questions, please feel free to submit them along with additional screenshots or videos for better understanding.

    Best regards,
