    Hello,

Our client sells products with numerous custom qualities that need to be
added for every product, and then enabled for filtering on the shop page.

    Example:
    – Colors
    – Topcoat
    – Appearance
    – Composition

These are other / extra product qualities that are needed for filtering.
These are not normal Product “Attributes”, and not used for Variations.
The primary local attribute for all products variations is an Image Swatch Name.

We added all of these as custom Taxonomy via Advance Custom Fields,
so the client could “add via quick edit” any combination of these qualities

    Please See:
    https://dev.enduratex.space/xstore/shop/

    Also: Screenshots attached

    PROBLEM:
Adding these Product Metadata Taxonomy to Shop Page sidebar filters.
It appears there is no way to do this without an extra plugin like:
    CodeCanyon => Filter Everything

    Please Advise:
Is this the advisable, best and correct method for handling this requirement?

Is there an easier, more built-in way to handle in XStore?

I could not find any way to add filters based on Custom Product Metadata / Taxonomy fields.

    Thank You!

    Hello, @Enduratex,

Thank you for your message and for providing detailed information about your client’s requirements.

We understand that you have created several custom taxonomies via Advanced Custom Fields to represent additional product qualities, and you would like to make these available as filters on the shop page sidebar.

Please note that the default XStore and WooCommerce filtering options are designed to work with standard product attributes and categories. Custom taxonomies created through ACF are not automatically recognized by the built-in filter widgets.

In this case, using a dedicated filtering plugin such as “Filter Everything” or another advanced filter solution that supports custom taxonomies would indeed be the most effective and reliable approach. This method ensures compatibility, flexibility, and proper integration with your custom fields.

At this time, there is no built-in XStore feature that allows filtering by custom product metadata or ACF taxonomies without additional customization or a third-party plugin.

We suggest you to convert all your ACF custom taxonomies/fields to product attributes/categories instead.

    Best Regards,
    8Theme’s Team
