Example: I have a product under Exhibition display category, I have copied the product and modified but put it under a different category, which is in particular example A5 Flyers. But even if in the admin panel on the product page I have selected the A5 Flyers category, on the Single product page it displays as the parent category when copied.

I’ve cleared the cookie and tried different browser too, no changes.

PS: Same issue in the breadcrumb

    Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us and for providing detailed information about the issue. We understand that you have duplicated a product from the Exhibition Display category, modified it, and assigned it to the A5 Flyers category. However, on the single product page, the breadcrumb and category display are still showing the parent category instead of the newly assigned one.

In such cases, we kindly recommend the following steps:
    1. Please ensure that the product is not assigned to multiple categories at the same time. If it is, the system may automatically display the parent category in the breadcrumb.
    2. Navigate to WooCommerce > Products > Categories and check the hierarchy of your categories. If A5 Flyers is a subcategory, the breadcrumb may still display the parent category by default. If you want to change this, we would recommend that you to contact the support of WooCommerce plugin – https://wordpress.org/support/plugin/woocommerce/ , because this behavior comes from there and not from our theme.
    3. Try re-saving the product after removing and re-adding the correct category.
    4. If you are using any caching plugin or server-side cache, please clear it completely to ensure the changes are reflected.
    5. WooCommerce > Status > Tools

Please ensure you clear the following fields:
    – WooCommerce transients
    – Expired transients
    – Term counts
    – Brands transients

We hope this information is helpful.

Thank you for your response. This particular product as you can see in the previously uploaded screenshot only belongs to one category, there’s tick on a5 flyers and there’s no tick on exhibition displays category. I’ve tried to put it under different category too but no change. In fact on the website when I browse through the shop, there are no issues, it is being in the right category on the shop page, which tells me that there are no issues fromwoocommerce. Just only when it comes to the product page, it’s displaying wrong on the breadcrumb and under the product.

I’ve tried cleaning the cache and different browsers.

    Hello @Dennis

Could you please provide temporary wp-admin and FTP access? We will check what can be done to help you.
To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.

For FTP access, we require the following details: FTP host, FTP username, FTP password, FTP port, and FTP encryption type. If you need assistance in creating these credentials, please reach out to your hosting provider who will guide you through the process.

    Kind regards, Jack Richardson

I don’t really feel safe giving any access, I understand that you only want to help and don’t have any bad intentions, just I am this kind of person. I would appreciate if we can try and sort this without access.

    I have an update:
I have tried activating the AMP plugin and checking the product page on my phone, once I activate the AMP the category and breadcrumb is displaying correctly, once deactivated is going back to the wrong category. Please see attached screenshots.

I hope this will give you some information that will help identifying the issue. I am sure you must have a sandbox website on your side, try creating a product under category1, then copy this product and the new copied product change it to category2.

Never mind, I’ve figured it out. It appears that if you scroll down to the end when you editing the product, there’s an additional field from the theme to select the category…
