Assistance Required – Unexpected Emails Being Sent from Website

    Hello Support Team,

    I am in the process of configuring my website for go-live and noticed that, for some reason, I keep receiving the email below. From the looks of it, the site is attempting to send an email out automatically.

    Could you please assist me with the following:

    1) Identify what is triggering this email and from where the email ID is being used within the theme.

    2) Advise how I can completely remove or disable this so the email is not sent again.

    It appears that there may be a misconfiguration in the email-related plugins on your website. The issue seems to be related to the sender email address currently in use. The plugins potentially involved include, but may not be limited to:

    – Contact Form 7
    – WP Mail Logging
    – Mailchimp
    – WP Mail SMTP
    – Any other plugins that handle email-sending functionality

    We kindly recommend reviewing the settings of these plugins to ensure that the correct sender email address is configured. It is likely that the mentioned email address has been set as the sender somewhere within these settings.

    Hello Jack,

    Thanks for getting back to me. Based on your response, I went through the plugins/services you mentioned and made the following checks and changes:

    Contact Form 7 – Correct email is configured, and it’s working as intended.

    WP Mail Logging – This is only for logging purposes and has no configuration.

    Mailchimp – This was pre-installed with the theme; I have deactivated it as it’s not being used.

    WP Mail SMTP – Configured correctly with the website SMTP, using the email address: sales@nerdbit.nz

    Other plugins handling emails – None that I am aware of.

    Despite these steps, I have again received the same email today. At this point, I’m out of options and not sure what else to check. I would really appreciate your further assistance in resolving this issue.

    Could you please provide temporary wp-admin access? We need to check your settings.

    To grant WP-Admin access, please proceed to create a new user account with an administrator role through your WordPress Dashboard. Once the account is established, you may securely transmit the username and password to us via the Private Content section designated for this purpose.
