Variation Gallery not working on frontend but works in single product builder

Hello,

I’m using the XStore theme. I have enabled the Variation Gallery feature under:

Theme Options > WooCommerce > Single Product > Variation Gallery → ON

Also, I have assigned different images to each variation (via the Variations tab in the product editor — not via gallery).

Here’s the issue:

When I edit a product using Single Product Builder, and I preview it inside the builder panel, the variation gallery works perfectly — images change when a variation is selected.

But when I publish and visit the actual product page, the main product image does not update when a variation is selected.

I’ve cleared all cache, tried incognito mode, and confirmed Elementor is not used anymore.

I’m currently using the native product template of XStore — no custom Elementor single-product templates are active.

Please note:
✅ Variation gallery works in the visual editor (Single Product Builder preview)
❌ But doesn’t reflect on the live site after saving

Hello,

I’m currently using XStore theme and I have an issue with variation images on single product pages built with Elementor.

When I use the default XStore single product layout, selecting a variation correctly updates the main product image based on the assigned variation image. However, when I switch to a custom Elementor product page, this dynamic image change no longer works. The main image stays static regardless of the variation selected.

In the Elementor editor, everything seems to work fine — variation image changes preview correctly — but after saving and viewing the live product page, the image doesn’t update as expected.

Could you please let me know how to enable dynamic variation image changes on Elementor-based single product templates using XStore?

Hello,

Thank you for reaching out to us.

1/ We recommend that you disable all third-party plugins that are not included with XStore (https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/included-plugins/). After doing so, please clear your browser’s cache and check again. It is possible that one of these additional plugins is causing the issue.

If the problem persists, we suggest switching to the Parent theme if you are currently using the Child Theme on your site. After clearing the cache, check again.

Let us know the results.

Hello again,

Thank you for your previous response.

I switched from Child Theme to Parent Theme as recommended.

Now the variation gallery works correctly — the main image is dynamically updated according to the selected variation. ✅

However, a new problem has arisen:

Most of my product images are no longer on the shop pages.
Only a few products’ images are displayed correctly — the others appear as empty placeholders.

These images were working fine when using the child theme. I have already done the following:

I have cleared all caches

I have checked the media library — the images are still there and assigned to the products

It seems that the parent theme is not rendering the thumbnails correctly in the product carousel.

Since switching to the parent theme caused a significant loss of layout throughout the site, I would like to ask:

👉 How can I fix the missing product images issue while keeping the variation gallery working?
👉 Is there a way to make this work properly with the child theme instead of rebuilding everything from scratch?

I am looking forward to your help.

We have disabled the Imagify plugin in order to investigate and resolve the issue. Kindly clear your site and browser cache, then check the result.
