    Hi, I’m building a webshop with parts for home appliances like vacuum cleaners. A lot of parts fit to a lot of different type of machines. I made an attribute called: “Suitable for” in which I added the type or serial numbers. There is one problem; some articles have hundred of types which makes the tabs very long (particularly on mobile). See for example the first attachment. The actual list is 5 times longer for this specific product …

    The type numbers are clickable. By clicking it shows ALL the products for the selected type. (See second attached file for visualization of the page shown when clicking a specific type). The main text color in the TAB is black but I need the text to be blue #00a6be when hovering over the type numbers so my customers are able to see the type numbers are in fact clickable.

    So I have two questions:
    1. Is there a solution for the tabs to show only (for example) 250 characters and then place the word: More … so customers can click this when they want to see the full list?

    2. Is there a CSS solution to transform the text into #00a6be when hovering?

    I hope you can help me with these questions?

    Hi Rose,

    I am willing and able to provide a temporarily acces to the backoffice where you can also watch a preview of the front end. Also is it possible for me to share a video of the problem I am facing. But I prefer to send the account information by mail and not on this forum. Can you provide me your mail address for the wetransfer file and the account information?

    Furthermore I have another topic pending with your co-worker Tony Rodriguez regarding tabs. He also wants to login to my backoffice. Should I provide him with a different temporarily account? Or can you share one account on my backoffice?

    Hello, @Arnan,

    Thank you for your response.

    1/ We would like to inform you that the XStore theme provides a feature to enable scrollable content within your single product tabs. To activate this functionality, please navigate to the following path in your theme settings:

    XStore > Theme Options > WooCommerce > Single Product Builder > Tabs

    Once there, you can turn on the ‘Scrollable Content’ option and adjust the ‘Content Max Height’ to suit your preferences. After making the necessary adjustments, ensure to save your changes by clicking the ‘Publish’ button.

    For your convenience, we have provided a visual reference to guide you through the process: https://imgur.com/EbumEJH

    We regret to inform you that, at present, it is not possible to incorporate the word “More” into the tabs.Please post your request on our Taskboard at https://www.8theme.com/taskboard/ -If it receives enough votes from other customers, our development team will consider adding it in one of the upcoming updates.

    2/ To address the concern you’ve raised, we kindly ask that you follow the steps outlined below:

    1. Navigate to the “XStore” section.
    2. Proceed to “Theme Options”.
    3. Select “Theme Custom CSS”.
    4. Locate the “Global CSS” area.

    Once there, please copy and paste the CSS code provided below into the specified field.

    .single-product td.woocommerce-product-attributes-item__value a:hover {
        color: #00a6be !important;
    }

    The result should look like this: https://imgur.com/WgZhCHs

    We hope this helps.

    Hi Tony, thank you. The CSS part I will try later but that will work. For the scrollable tabs it works in the backoffice when I test it but it seems that when I want to publish the adjustments they won’t save. After clicking publish I go to the front end and there is nog change visible. Maybe you can take a look for me at the backend en see why?

    Hi Tony, the CSS works fine. Thank you. However I’m stuck with the other problem. My service provider can’t help me. To identify what causes the problem of not saving changed content I disabled elementor and elementor pro shortly to see if there was a problem there. Unfortunately that was not the problem. After re-activating Elementor and Elementor Pro again there seems to be a new problem: All single product pages are not working anymore. So now I have two problems. I can’t edit and save single product pages in Xstore because it won’t save any changes AND on the front end the single product pages won’t show anymore because of a fatal error (see attached file). So I’m in need of some good support to fix the problem. I’m hoping you are willing to find and solve the problem for me? At this point I already created 3.000 products and I need my shop to be up and running within the next two months… Hope to hear from you soon. I’ve created a new login for you. If needed I can also give acces to my server when that is needed to help me solve this problem. Thank you!

    Hi Rose,

    Thank you for the fast reply. I’ve updated the theme a week ago but the problem with the product page not working then took place for the first time. So I installed a backup from the day before to fix that problem (temporarily). However I just did the update again.

    I’m sorry to say that I don’t know how to downgrade the PHP. For that I will have to call in some help tomorrow from a friend or my hosting provider. The same for the debugging WordPress.

    I created a temporarily acces to my FTP which is displayed in the private content area. If you are able to find the problem before I can reach out to my friend of the hosting provider then of course that is great. Thanks again for your support.

    Dear Arnan,

    We hope this message finds you well.

    We have identified a conflict between the Advanced Woo Labels/Search PRO plugins (screenshot available here: https://prnt.sc/irhzBvL0ACzU) and our XStore theme.

    We would like to bring to your attention that while we strive for broad compatibility, we cannot guarantee that our theme will function seamlessly with all third-party plugins. In certain instances, additional customization may be required to ensure compatibility between the theme and plugins. Regrettably, it is beyond the capacity of the theme author to ensure universal compatibility with the multitude of plugins available, and such customization falls outside the purview of our standard support services.

    In light of this, we recommend reaching out to the plugin author for assistance in resolving this issue.

    We appreciate your understanding and are here to assist with any other concerns you may have.

    Hi Luca, thanks for your answer. I understand that part of the problem is with the Advanced Woo labels and the Search Pro plugins. I can see you disabled them and the products page is now working again. Thank you. Ofcourse I can contact the the creators of the plugin and ask for assistance. Before doing so; can you specify what is causing the conflict? Can you give me more information about the conflict so I can pass this on to the creators of Advanced Woo Labels?

    The reason I used these two plugins is that the theme I bought didn’t seem to have the option to 1) Create product labels based on Attributes. Is this correct? Is there a way to create labels with your theme similar to the ones I can create with Advanced Woo labels? Or can you advice a plugin that can do so and is 100% compatible with the theme?

    2) With the search engine provided with you theme there seemed to be no option to include attributes in the search results. For me this is important because my products are mostly spare parts for domestic appliances and have a lot of serial numbers. Is there a way to include them within the search engine that comes with the theme or can you advice a plugin that does and also is 100% compatible with the theme?

    Looking forward to your answer. Thank you!

    Hello Tony, some time back I asked this question about not being able to save changes in the Xstore menu (for example the hight of tabs). Your technical team located some issues: the server is returning a 404 & 500 (Not Found) error. In the period between then and now I tried to resolve this myself, also by contacting my hosting provider and by hiring a professional. Unfortunately we were not able to fix this problem. Therefore I want to ask you to help me find an fix this problem. My site has te be up and running within 2 months and I need this to be resolved. Can you ask the technical team to take a look at this? The temp login that I provided earlier is still active.

    Which issues are you facing now? We’re trying to edit the contact page and it’s working fine:

    Hi Luca, the best example I can give is the following. When I try to set the height of the tables on a single product page (for example from 800 to 1200) the changes are not saved. The green publish button remains and no longer changes to the gray color that is normally shown when updates have been processed. If I then close the page, I also get the warning that changes will not be saved if I close. (See also attachment). By the way, a programmer made the tabs scrollable for me with a bit of extra CSS. The following code was used for this:

    td.woocommerce-product-attributes-item__value {
    display: block;
    max-height: 400px;
    overflow-y: auto;
    }

    This works well in itself, but I would much prefer to be able to simply change and especially save via xstore.

    It is true that I have activated the two plugins again. I previously deactivated/removed this, but the problem persisted. I also contacted the developer of the plugins and he resolved the issues with an update. So I don’t think that the problem arises there, but that something goes wrong somewhere else and saving changes does not work.

    Dear Arnan,

    We hope this message finds you well.

    We are currently experiencing an issue where values are not being saved properly on our platform. Although we are able to click the save button, the entered values disappear upon refreshing the page.

    We suspect that this may be related to a caching problem. Could you kindly assist us by disabling all third-party and cache plugins? Once this has been done, please check the functionality again to see if the issue persists.

    Thank you for your attention to this matter. We look forward to your prompt response.

    Hi Luca, I have deactivated all plugins with the exception of the Xstore core. I just can’t change the tabs anymore. This might be because elementor is now also disabled? Should I turn it back on and then test it? Or can you now continue with a check-up?

    By the way, when I log in to my so-called PLESK environment, I receive various security warnings regarding Xstore. I don’t know if these are related and if you are aware of them? I wanted to create another topic for it, but while you’re at it; maybe it’s related? (See attachments)

    Dear @Arnan,

    I hope this message finds you well. I would like to provide you with an update and some recommendations regarding your current setup:

    1. We have conducted a test by turning off the Mobile Panel and then proceeding with publishing and saving customizations. The process functioned normally, as verified by the Mobile panel switch being off upon refresh. We have since reactivated the Mobile Panel to maintain its functionality as it was previously set.

    2. We have noticed some warnings concerning your server requirements. We strongly recommend that you review these warnings to ensure optimal performance and compatibility. You can view the details here: [https://prnt.sc/en6RzycmSIgQ](https://prnt.sc/en6RzycmSIgQ).

    3. It is crucial to update your theme to the latest version to benefit from recent improvements and fixes. Please check the updates and modifications in our changelog history, which can be accessed here: [https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/](https://xstore.8theme.com/update-history/).

    Good morning Jack, thank you for your response. I have read this carefully. Points 2 and 3 are clear. So far I have always performed the updates almost immediately when they were available. I will contact my hosting company for the other comment, but I have a pretty solid hosting package behind it. After reading the message, I checked the backend to see which plugins were activated at that time. I have run both updates (Xstore core and the theme). After this I tested the problem as mentioned earlier, but this still does not work.

    In your first comment you talk about the mobile panel? I can’t quite place that. I didn’t report an issue with the mobile panel but gave the example that customizing tabs on a single product page doesn’t work. And it still doesn’t.

    To be clear: when I go to Theme Options > Woocommerce (shop) > Single product builder > Tabs I want to adjust the height of the tab (content maximum height). That is now at 800, but I want to make that 1000, for example. If I adjust this, I immediately see the desired change on the screen. But when I click on the green update button at the bottom, the button changes color very slightly but does not turn gray as it should. As a sign that the changes have been saved. If I then want to close the screen, I get the warning: The changes will be lost if you leave this page now. So the changes are still not saved even though all third party plugins are disabled… I really need a solution for this specific problem from Xstore. I hope to hear from you again soon, thank you.

    Dear @Arnan,

    Thank you for providing detailed steps to reproduce the issue you encountered. We observed that when dragging the slider to its maximum value at this link: https://prnt.sc/JV50rW5fQhwV, the maximum allowable value is 800. However, you indicated a preference for a maximum value of 1000, which exceeds the current limit.

    Our system is designed to restrict input values beyond the specified parameters to prevent errors. As demonstrated here: https://prnt.sc/RlUxTDIIzsAR, any value below 800 is accepted and saved correctly.

    We understand that you might prefer a maximum height of 1000 for the tab content in your Single Product layout, particularly if you are designing on a large monitor. However, it is important to consider that many users will access these pages on smaller screens, where a maximum height of 1000 might not be practical as it could occupy twice the height of their displays. This consideration is why we have set the maximum height limit at 800.

    If your intention is to provide users with an unrestricted view of each tab without a maximum height limit, you have the option to disable the height limitation by following this link: https://prnt.sc/i9KiFPYUlzZF.

    Should you still require a maximum height of 1000 or greater, you can achieve this by adding the following CSS code in the Theme Options under Theme Custom CSS -> Global CSS:

    .et_product-block .tabs-with-scroll .wc-tab {
        max-height: 2000px;
    }

    We would appreciate your feedback on this proposed solution. Please let us know how you wish to proceed.
