    Hi

I have installed and setup the packaged Subscriptio plugin. It all works fine to a degree however the emails are missing. I don’t see them in the list of custom emails in admin.

I’m talking about the renewal / subscription failed / success emails etc that should render for subscriptions.

They are showing in the drop-down list, if I select to add a new one but the content isn’t there so I don’t know what should originally be in the email template in order to add it to the new email.

Can you please advise? I have searched forum help and found other threads regards Woocommerce Subscriptions but not this, the packaged bundle one. The thread I seen is here but that isn’t suitable for me as it is a different plugin -> https://www.8theme.com/topic/built-in-email-builder-woo-subscription-email-templates-are-missing/

But it’s the same query I am raising regards Subscriptio plugin.

    Thanks

    Hello,

We don’t have ready-to-use templates for these emails. You are able to create them from scratch if you want to use an email builder for them. In another case, the default emails will be sent. Make a test subscription to check the emails you get. After that you’ll be able to decide what you want to see in these emails and create your own email tempalte.

Wow! That’s a cop-out. So essentially it’s a case of “buy our theme with bundled plugins that aren’t actually customised to the rest of the theme”!

Nice. So I’ll go solve it myself then because you don’t want to sell a complete package. 🤷🏻

    Food for thought. Not impressed.

    Hello,

Point is that many users prefer to keep the default templates of the Subscriptio plugin. That’s why we did not create templates for that. At the same time if users create custom templates as a rule they should fit company styles, they display only the information that they want to share with the customer. But if you have problems with the creation of the mentioned templates using email builder we could log in and create them for you. Do you want that we create examples of templates for you?

    Hi

Thanks – it’s fine as I have bought a subscription myself on my own site to see all the emails that arrive so I know what is what. Hopefully within a week I will have them all.

I was only trying to say that there are *no* saved emails in the template list, so maybe for future please add them or at least have a fix handy for us that do request them – maybe post it in a new forum post? Just thinking anyone who uses Subscriptio will need to customise their standard emails so why not have a copy handy?

Thanks anyway – will plod along and sort these as each reminder etc is triggered. 🙂

Last query – do you happen to know the shortcode in order to get the subscription dates as these do not appear anywhere in the email builder and obviously we need to show the date someone is subscribed from -> to

Ok great thanks – so essentially I just need the shortcode to put inside the email (using your built-in email builder) to set the dates of subscription and the button that links to the cart to purchase on renewal (am using manual renewals option so the email sends a link to the customer to purchase from the cart as it seems it creates a new order on renewal).

Please ask for assistance – FYI – login info is in private on original post.

Thanks again – enjoy your weekend.

    Hello,

Subscriptio plugin does not have such a shortcode by default. But we are looking for ways to display mentioned information using email builder hooks. I’ll inform you once developers implement that.

    Hiya

    Brilliant. Thanks for updating me.

Is it likely to be an update or can they login and look on my site do you think? As I need to launch it by end of month so time isn’t my friend.

    Thanks again. 👍

    Hello,

We have added custom code to child theme functions.php. Now to display the necessary information in the email add the Hook element to your email content https://prnt.sc/0rzCFwz02H22 and choose the woocommerce_email_after_order_table hook https://prnt.sc/Vue71T-14_r7

Test emails after that. Let me know if that suits your needs.

    Hi Olga

Awesome. Thank you for looking at this so quickly and for your help.

I’m lost though (sorry)! As in what you’ve described above doesn’t seem to do what I want. I wanted to literally customise my own emails and that requires 3 shortcode functions –

    Start date
    End date (renewal date)
    Button to purchase order

Will the hook add these or what? I’m not familiar with these hooks. Also the positioning, after content. I wanted the date in the top part of the email after the “Hi {name} – above the actual products purchased.

Could you please elaborate as I’m pretty confused. For instance all the Subscriptio emails show “file not found” when trying to edit via your builder or via woocommerce -> settings -> emails

I presumed we’d have all these emails in the builder email list with demos to allow customisation.

    Urgh. 😂

    Thanks for any help.

edit to add – I have edited the subscription email as you say – and it doesn’t show anything at all under the hook. It literally repeats the title so on my email it reads as – “WooCommerce hook placeholder” where I dropped the hook placement.

    Weird…

    Hello,

We have studied subscription plugin code to find out why it does not work for you and found that they do not allow overwriting default templates. We have contacted plugin author https://prnt.sc/1X5ztYYkU-5v and they told us that improvement is added to the to-do-list https://prnt.sc/oCy0Bx9tVfrf
But we don’t have information about when it will be fixed. So, unfortunately, you can use only default emails for the subscription till the plugin author fix the problem.

    Hi Olga

Appreciate your help with this. I’ll uninstall it and revert backwards. It’s not ideal.

Maybe reconsider offering this plug-in as it’s really not suitable for purpose as-is today. Kirill from Rightpress always says it’ll get done but rarely is it. This exact issue was raised in the previous version (v2) so you’d have thought he’d update it for the new v3 but nope. 7 years since I seen the first post asking to customise emails lol

Thanks for your help anyway. Appreciate your efforts. 👍

Thanks Olga. I guess I’ll be rebuilding that site then lol. Typical 😂

Is it worth removing it as a bundle as right now it’s seriously unfit for purpose being no emails can be customised. The base Woo emails are never used by any decent designer.

Thanks again for chasing and keeping me informed. Appreciate your help.

Thanks for updating me – client has binned the whole theme and I have since de-registered it as without subscriptions it is utterly useless.

I just hope my support won’t expire before I get to use the theme I have wasted. But thanks, appreciate it is not your fault but I do ask that you remove all element and advertising of subscriptions as it really is not fit for purpose and actually shouldn’t be added to any theme as it is right now – it’s literally made by children, for children 🙁

Thanks again – appreciate all your help on this.
