    Hi

I am not sure if 8theme are yet aware, but Instagram is changing its API again. See link below.

    https://embedsocial.com/blog/instagram-api-changes-2020/

This will require XStore’s Instagram API to be recoded, since the old API with Basic Permission will no longer work after 2nd March 2020. Can you confirm that this will be worked on for an upcoming update of XStore, please?

    Hello,

Our developers are working on this.
Also, the update was postponed – https://developers.facebook.com/blog/post/2019/10/15/launch-instagram-basic-display-api/

Sorry. I just checked one of my sites that uses the 8theme Instagram widget and builder elements. The images are not being displayed in either the Home Page or the 8theme – Instagram widget found in the sidebar on the blog page. Is there a current issue you know about? or maybe it’s just this site.

I reconnected the API and use the reinit feature. I also ran the Regenerate Thumbnails plugin tool. Not sure why the #images are not being displayed.

** Edit ** When I hover over the mouse where the image thumbnails should be, the background changes from white to grey and I see the like and chat icons that were not visible before.

    Hello,

As you can see on our demo the Instagram works fine still – https://xstore.8theme.com/
Try to disable all third-party plugins, that do not come bundled with our theme https://www.8theme.com/documentation/xstore/plugins/included-plugins/ , and check the Instagram then. If this doesn’t help, provide us with URL, temporary wp-admin and FTP access.

    Regards

    Thanks Rose

Very strange… it started working on its own again. I did have someone visit the site from elsewhere, not sure if that triggered the thumbnails to be generated. But seems to be working now.

    Please close ticket.

    Sorry Rose,

I have just logged back into the site using Firefox. In Firefox when logged into the site as admin, the Instagram thumbnails are not visible on the Home Page, or sidebar on the news page, but they are visible in Google Chrome when logged in. Can you confirm if you have the same issue on your end with XStore 6.2.11 and Core 2.2.1? If you don’t have a problem your end, I will provide login credentials.

OK, I have worked out that the problem in Firefox not allowing my Instagram images to be displayed was because of a Firefox extension called “Facebook Container”. As soon as I disabled this plugin, the Instagram images in Firefox were visible again.

    Please kindly close this ticket.
