I have added the “Filter Products by Attribute” widget to my Shop Sidebar widget area, and am seeing the following on the page:

Warning: call_user_func_array() expects parameter 1 to be a valid callback, function 'shop_filter_cat' not found or invalid function name in /home/creat568/public_html/sunshinesam.com/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php on line 286

    How can I fix this?

    Please, contact administrator
    for this information.

    Hello,

You use latest theme version, but version of Core plugin is old, go to Appearance > Install plugins > update 8theme Core plugin. Also, you added Filter Products by Brands to Shop sidebarhttp://prntscr.com/jigeu5 , but Brands are disabled in Theme Options > General > Layout.
I’ve deleted the Brands filter and the error disappeared. If you want to use this filter, do not forget to enabled Brands via Theme Options and create Brands in the Products section, do not forget to set brand in settings of product – http://prntscr.com/jigflz
If you want to use Filter Products by Attribute, you need to create variable products with attributes https://docs.woocommerce.com/document/variable-product/

    Regards

I have updated the Core plugin but am still seeing the error at the top of my site in the backend. What is causing it? I don’t want ti simply turn off bug notices, as that won’t solve the root problem.

    Hello,

Have you checked if this error appears with child theme only or with parent theme too?

    Regards

Thank you for asking, that helped me find the problem — a line of code in my child theme’s functions.php file needed to be removed. Thank you!
