Hi All,
I am relatively new to WordPress and WooPress, so I am sure my description of my problem is not great, apologies. But my situation is as follows, it is a long explanation but I figure more is better, so thanks for hanging in there;
1) I have installed AMPPS on my computer and created a basic WordPress site by installing WordPress using the AMPPS functionality. So my site is http://127.0.0.1/woo/
2) I have then purchased Woopress and installed that theme to replace the default Worpress theme used by AMPPS.
What I found happening though is that the characteristics of the old theme began appearing in the new Woopress theme across most of the pages after working on the site for a short period. Specifically a search bar, Recent Posts, Recent Comments, Archives, Categories, and META would all appear vertically down the left hand side of the screen, with all the ‘Hello World’ text and sample comment and post, etc.
After much frustration and a few install attempts, I worked out (I could be wrong!) that the default Worpdress theme consisted of two pages, a Sample page and a blog page set as the home page (that didn’t appear in the Page List that shows all pages that I can edit). I went into the blog page and deleted all the widgets that contained the above stuff so the page was essentially blank, I set it as a static home page (rather than a blog page) and then deleted the Sample page. So the website had as little content/formatting/pages as I could manage.
Then I installed Woopress. Much better this time and at first all was fine (like earlier attempts). But all of a sudden, and I dont know what I do to make it happen, I now have a Search Bar appearing across several of my pages, including the home, blog, and cart pages (it appears in the slider on the home page). I have no idea where it is coming from, it cannot be deleted when I try to edit the individual pages, so I think it is being inherited from the original template.
Can anyone explain what is happening here? It is driving me nuts!
