Well that’s exactly how I save the changes after overwriting the “royal” folder via FTP but apparently it’s not saving my settings.

Can I just use the ENVATO TOOLKIT PLUGIN to update the theme or no?

    Hello,

You can use this plugin to update the theme, but always check new version description http://themeforest.net/item/royal-multipurpose-wordpress-theme/8611976 what files are deleted to remove them from your theme folder too.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.

Envato Toolkit doesn’t automatically delete old files from the theme? I though it overwrites all old files and only use the new ones you upload and make available?

    Hello,

It just overwrites the files, but doesn’t delete them. If some file is removed in a new version, but present in the old version, it will be kept and you have to remove it manually.

    Best regards,

Well that’s gonna be too confusing for me having to figure out which files are old or new.

I”ll try to update the theme like from your video one more time, the next time around and hopefully the settings are saved.

But just to be clear, I’m have Child Theme activated. After I delete the “woocommerce” subfolder and overwrite the “royal” fold via FTP, do I click SAVE OPTIONS from the PARENT THEME or CHILD THEME? I can’t remember which way I did last time. But nevertheless, the settings were not saved.

    Hello,

You don’t need to switch to parent theme, you can save changes having child theme activated.

    Best regards,
    Jack Richardson.
