I installed through WP and then tried uploading the template manually. Both ways I get the same error. I then went and deployed another fresh WP install and had the same problems on that site as well. I have to manually revert back to a previous theme to get back into word press.
The Error is always the same:
wp-content/themes/royal/framework/theme-functions.php on line 2843
Can you advise on what I need to do to correct this? Thanks.

“Parse error: syntax error, unexpected T_FUNCTION” error can be caused by low php version. What version are you using? You can ask it at your hosting provider and tell them to update it to at least 5.3 php version.
Thank you both for your feedback. I ended up ordering a new Hosting Plan from my provider with a more current PHP platform and that seems to have resolved my problem.
Thank you again for your help.
